About Advance Professional VIN Scan
The Advance Professional VIN Scanner simplifies your workday, quickly and easily allowing you to capture and decode a vehicle's information by scanning its VIN barcode.
Advance Professional customers can now scan and upload VIN information from a vehicle barcode (windshield or door mounted) and send it directly into their secure Advance Professional online account. The decoded VIN information will appear on their account's "Previous Vehicles" list and be available to use for parts look-up.
After scanning a vehicle's VIN barcode, the Advance Professional VIN Scanner makes it easy to:
- Capture a vehicle's detailed description, including year, make, model and engine
- Upload the scanned data into your Advance Professional online account
- Store the most recent vehicles scanned within the app itself
- Get fast, one-click access to your assigned Commercial Parts Pro
To upload scanned vehicles to your Advance Professional online account, you must be an active commercial customer. Contact your nearest Advance Auto Parts store or visit pro.advancecommercial.com for information on starting a commercial customer account or obtaining your online credentials.

Why is there still not a version for the DIY person. AutoZone has it. NAPA has it. O'Reilly has it. But not Advance Auto. Guess I will buy from those other stores.

Great app.. DOWNFALL logs out alot!! Frustrating.. and it's not like so hard to tell that putting a at the minimum thought a link to the Web site.. if ur 2 lazy to just pump up the app with a shop for parts after scanning....

I have a commercial account and tried to read 5 different cars and it wouldn't read any of them (ford edge - Chevy Tahoe - Honda civic - Toyota camry - volvo s70)

I got into my commercial account and it displays my account name for 2 seconds then shows the "login" button again almost immediately. Very confusing!

The fact that this app is the only related to advance auto parts stores it is confusing... This is for professional mechanics to identify description of the car they are going to work with! (Incase they don't know) lol.

The reason why some of you guys are having issues is because when it says Commercial it doesn't mean a commercial account it means Commercial employees like me! I can log in just fine!

the worst vin scan I have ever used!!!!reads about one out of five vins.i have three other vin scans that will read vins with no issues at all .I have use another companys vin scan then copy the vin and bring it over too advance auto parts.so why use it??
