ADT Pulse ® for Android
Well Tim, thanks for the disappointing upgrade this week. Professional looking out the door....pastels and horrible graphics for $72 per month....time to move!! Maybe ADT will be sold again and the new owners will give us a more professional app. Tim, president of ADT, thanks for making a mess of this app. It use to work very well, now even the thermostats won't change correctly. Bad enough you have made ADT a living nightmare for the employees since the takeover now you are messing with the paying consumer. Run don't walk from ADT. They were super once , but since the takeover April 2016, Tim you have destroyed a once great company.
I'm so tired of giving my money to corporations for services that dont work as advertised. This app has left me standing somewhere looking like a fool waiting for the login to stop loading for the last time. The alarm service itself is good but dont let anyone from this company tell you that this app is worth a damn. Just set your alarm as usual and get on with your life.
The app upgrade is horrible. Sluggish speed at best and will not let me log in consistently. Once I log in, it will not allow me to arm/disarm at all....or it takes at least 5 minutes for minimal access. This needs to be fixed immediately.
The new app looked cool. However, today I was unable to view my camera feed, so I was trying to check the activity feed to see when the connection was lost. It wouldn't let me see anything and keeps giving me error codes. I tried to re login and it would let me.
New app is awful. Takes forever to arm/disarm. And the camera feature is basically non existent. Doesn't ever come on and I pay for this feature. ADT you have to fix this. What was the purpose of "upgrading" the app, when all features don't work? I am thinking of going with another company at this point.
Horrible update!! Will not let me log in. Always says network error. I have had trouble from day 1 with this app amd services from this company. Better to buy local! Cancelling my services Monday!
I gave this App 4 stars before, when it was on the old format. The new format is literally unusable. Half the time I can't log in and it just keeps saying loading. The other half of the time it's slow and buggy and crashes. How ADT managed to take a very user friendly app that was easy and intuitive and scew it up this bad is so beyond my comprehension.
I am so sick of not being able to use this app for what its supposed to do. Cannot log in again keeps saying wrong password. My password has never changed. I am so fed up with ADT. I'm over ADT and their ridiculous prices and their stuff not working correctly.
The update fixed their stupid issue with the root splash screen, my phone was new and it's not rooted so... big fail on their part. I uninstalled and reinstalled the update, and it works. I can view all cameras and set my alarm, and I'm fairly happy. We will see in a week how this works out....
New update won't let me log in. Not a well thought out roll out. Service went down over the weekend after an upgrade and the iOS app failed too. Whoever the developer is should be fired for ruining the customer service experience like this.
ADT Pulse App began not working on my Android phone on 6/7/17 (which has never been rooted!) Have spent hours trying to resolve the issue to no avail. The IT retards at ADT recommended I have my carrier (Verizon) help me root my phone (which Verizon strongly advised against). Then 2 weeks later, another moron at ADT IT blamed the app not working on Google. If you're reading this, tell everyone you know to NEVER USE ADT for home security. Perhaps when people take their business elsewhere they'll get off their asses and fix the problem. There are many other home security options.
this is the third update to try and fix the security issue on select phones. I have a completely untouched Droid turbo phone that I still cannot use the pulse app with because it says it has a security issue and will not run. I will be calling to cancel my membership with adt. I am not paying for a service I can not use when I want to use it.
Update claims my phone has security risk and no longer works. Went from a terrible, slow app to a broken app. Zero stars.
Works on my Pixel XL, Love the new UI/UX update first released on 6/2017 keep up the good work.
Not at all impressed with the new update, I can no longer log in through my phone I have to use the web and that just takes entirely to much time, very unhappy customer

Questionable design for a safety app. Top screen is so easy to use that I unlock my door & more without intending to with the slightest touch of a finger. I hope ADT resolves this design (I think) flaw. I'll prefer the desktop version until they do, especially while traveling. That stated, accessing activity history now has 2 helpful features, tabs & a filter. Both make this info easier to use/view. I also experienced problems getting into my account. Uninstalling & reinstalling this new app resolved this. I've been an active Pulse & Pulse app user since 2011.
After the old app had major online/offline issues, this redesigned app is working good so far. I gave it (4) stars because I am still monitoring its performance. Yesterday the app didn't work but then I discovered an email from ADT advising the the ADT Pulse portal was going under maintenance, lets see. 6/18/17 UPDATE: ADT, it's time to outsource your app team. App is down again!
The new app is always kicking me off and asking to sign back on. Then I sign back on 3 seconds later it kicks me off and tells me to restart the app. And it doesn't even give me a good full size picture of the whole view it cuts it off. The old App was differently way better and I wish I never upgraded. Yes I have restarted my phone, uninstalled the app and installed again to see if it works that way NOPE keeps kicking me off. I'm going on vacation in a few weeks and I can't even stayed log in to watch the video clips. If this keeps up I'm going to be changing providers. I want to be able to go on vacation and check my place to make sure everything's is OK. This app is HORIBBLE!!!
I hate when they execute changes that were not well thought out. I was locked out of my account because the app doesn't recognize my password and insisted that I was entering it wrong. However, after I requested a password change it will only let me log in through the web page but not the app. I'm highly unsatisfied with this app and that didn't just happen.... It has been an issue for a long time when it comes to logging in. We can't even decently log in quick enough with the fastest internet or mobile data. So aggravating and delayed....We need a better fix!!! Continues to log us out once we are able to log in. Tried arming from the keypad and it wouldn't arm. Can't view cameras while at home or away from home. Too many error messages.
Just had ADT installed. Spent a pretty penny mostly on sensors but got one indoor camera. Unfortunately they are testing new outdoor tech and didnt have any outdoor cameras available. No big deal. The app works ok but can not access anything om tbe psge with tbe temp icon. Also full screen mode does not work. Having security with the fire detectors is well worth it alone I think. Having dogs and cats. Knowing other eyes and ears are watching over them makes me feel better. Since the last update the app rarely loads correctly
App update on 6/13/17 resolved issue where it stated my phone was unsecured and wouldn't let me login. Completely functional now. The newly designed app is a lot better visually that the old. All I do with the app is arm and disarm my system and that button is lower on the screen. It also allows for fingerprint login so it's much easier to login. It's better than the old app.
If I could give less than a 1 star rating I would. This app has worked on my android galaxy for years until this most recent upgrade. Apparently, ADT has decided to stop the usage of this app on custom rooted phones. According to other reviews the app is even not working on phones that were not rooted or customized. I am seriously considering canceling my service with ADT. With this new app they now have more security than my bank apps. This is very very very inconvenient. ADT once again does not consider the users needs. ADT is terrible.
Updated review 6/18/17: App looks better and finally has fingerprint login. The fingerprint login just isn't working. I get this endless cycle of fingerprint scan, password, back and forth. Going to have to uninstall and reinstall and hope that fixed it. 2 stars at best.. Almost a year since last update. It's clunky and slow, well behind the competition. At least bring fingerprint recognition to login screen. Definitely an app that worked better on iOS, but not great there either.
I have a Samsung phone. For 4 months I used the Pulse app to remotely operate the alarm at my beach house. It worked great. Then they "upgraded" the app. At first it wouldn't even show up on my front screen. I'd go to Google Play and it would say it was already installed but wouldn't open. Then one day it appeared on my screen and worked moderately well for 3 days. Now it's on my screen but won't connect. POS. I'm going to sue for breach of contract.
Piece of garbage! It's been 2 days since application does not work!!!!!! All ADT says is thay they are working fast to resilve the issue. Two days and still they don't even know when they will be fixing the problem. Unacceptable! What is even worse, the sensors are going crazy sending wrong signals and receiving automated calls from ADT saying there is an issue which requires my attention. ADT's attention and prompt solution is what we, customers, are demanding. We are paying for a service which is NOT WORKING!!!!!!!!! So so so so dissappinted. Since ADT upgraded the application EVERYTHING HAS BEEN A MESS!!!!!! I pay for a service which is supposed to protect my house and belongings, not this useless system.
JUST SPOKE TO ADT 6/17 @ 9:30 AM - Since the new app release on June 5th, the Pulse App service stopped working. I just got off the phone with "Dasha" in the ADT technical dept who tried to tell me the new app was working fine up until yesterday when it was taken offline for maintnance. I informed her that according to hundreds of other ADT customer reviews, most if not all customers are having the same issue which she tried to minimize. I asked her when the situation WOULD BE RESOLVED....THERE IS NO TIME FRAME IN SIGHT. I informed her I would be canceling my service if the app was not operational within 24 hours wherein she informed me I could do so through the "Loyalty" department. I urge all ADT customers to followup as well as it doesn't appear ADT is taking this inconvenience very seriously.
The new update is still not working for me. I have a Samsung Galaxy S6 with Sprint and my son has the exact same phone, his app is working mine is not. My phone is not rooted nor has it been modified so I have no idea what is going on. What good is pulse on paying for when I can't use the app which I use a lot. Time to call and cancel not going to keep paying for something I can't use. Been a customer for over 20 years and calling does nothing, they can't help you.
I am sick of this! ADT is charging us for a service they are not providing. The following home security providers offer service with a phone app that works properly, and are more than willing to provide me with the security protection I need. The new update is horrible! One minute I log in and can see my live view, LITERALLY one minute later I log in and it just says connect with a black screen. I am very frustrated that the live view isn't working, the main reason I use the app is for viewing my live camera and I have lost faith that this service is reliable.
The new version sucks!!!! I cannot log in anymore, just spins and spins then takes me back to the login screen. I'm so irritated with this new sucky update. It was working flawlessly before. Now it does absolutely nothing but take up memory. Boooooo!!!
6/13/2017 Update STILL NOT WORKING! FIX IT NOW OR I WILL GO TO A DIFFERENT PROVIDER!!!! This update is horrible, I can't run the app on my Moto Nexus 6!!! My phone is not even rooted, it just has an unlocked bootloader and honestly that's my business not yours! Don't tell me I can't use an app for a service I pay for or otherwise I won't pay you any longer!!! It's not up to you to determine if I have a secure network! I guarantee you my phone is extremely secure and probably more secure than your crappy app which barely ever worked!
Won't run on my up to date, latest month security patch Nexus 6p? Foolish. Can't wait to build my own system. Magisk for the win! Their latest update has a long tirade about rooted devices and they still have no idea what they're talking about. Right after that there is there is there is a there is a fix for users with modified operating systems but of course it's still isn't going to work. Until you revert this you're getting one star and going to continue to get the bad publicity you deserve.
It's been very slow and unreliable from the get go, then there was a big update, and I'm thinking it should get faster and more reliable. Nope, I think it actually got slower and less reliable. I have to stand there for a full minute waiting for it to connect, then half the time it's either unable to arm/disarm my system and gives me an error, or it says it did what I asked it, but actually didn't. This app is almost useless. Please forget about overhauling the user interface until you can get the thing to work reasonably quickly and reliably.
The app AND website are messed up. Trying to sign in on app either kicks an error or simply hangs. Trying to sign in on website logs me in, then gives exactly 1 second to press arm or disarm before kicking back to login. I got locked IN to my place of business this morning. I dont think the recent update made anything better. Likely going to talk my boss into switching security companies. These people obviously dont care.
Cannot login from Android or iOS. So many depend on a simple function as logging in to arm and disarm from a remote location. I even reduced the number of keypads from 3 to 1 because the app handled everything smoothly until the latest update. Now I have to sprint through the house to the one keypad when disarming. Why tout this app over keypads if the app cannot stay stable?
Stopped working today with latest update. Says my OS has been modified. My phone had been rooted in the past, but I had since factory reset it. Regardless, it should work rooted or not. But in the end, here I am with an unrooted phone and cannot use the app. Guess I'll hurry my research of DIY video surveillance. *update* Even after their recent update to supposedly fix the issue, it is still not working and gives the same error screen.
I cannot say enough bad things about this new version. Doesn't log in majority of the time, arming is a big question mark from the app, arming when it feels like it (anywhere up to 5 minute delay with error messages too) leaving us close to setting off the alarm. Are you kidding me! I expect better ADT
It doesn't work. It says it can't connect to the server. App closes itself for no reason. It doesn't arm or dissarm the security system. The previous app was much better the new one doesn't work. Im using a Galaxy S5. Please release the previous app again.

HoRrIbLe! This is the second update in two weeks. Previously I could not review recorded clips on ANY of our phones. Nothing but problems with every new release, your users are NOT beta testers - this should never have been released! I got some dumb-a$$ response from ADT to use the mobile web site instead (ummm yeah no thanks). Now I can't even login on the pulse site at all - not on the app, mobile site, or regular site. We're done with ADT - contract is up and I'm dropping pulse. There are many other options out there now that work! I can get basic monitoring MUCH cheaper and handle my own video/automation MUCH more reliably. You should be ashamed to call yourselves a security company - your service is far too unreliable to handle the safety and security of our home.
