Find out who of your family or friends is near you so you can meet her/him/them in person for a coffee, shopping, cinema, etc..

This App will notify you about the distance between you and your family or friends. If the person is near you (ca. 500m/550yards), a notification will be send to both of you. And it is up to you if you want or not to meet face to face.

This App is NOT providing information about your location to the other users. It is merely calculating the distance between the people. You can also use the "Invisible mode" to temporally hide yourself.

Your friends, are your contact from your phone book. However, this App is not going to read all your contacts and store them on the server. Only the contacts of your choice will be used, in a way that they are not going to be readable and recognisable by anyone else but you, so that maximum privacy is respected, for you and your family/friends.

For the App to work correctly, you must have also your Location activated in your phone settings. To guarantee the highest accuracy it is recommended to have both your data and WIFI ON (even when not connected to a known network, location accuracy will be greatly improved). Especially in the urban environment.
Use the "Urban mode" to control the accuracy in the densely populated area from the available WIFIs access points and at the same time save on the phone's battery by disabling location services from GPS.

This App has been created as a pleasure programming exercise after the office hours, so I don't expect you to rate it. Just use it and enjoy it.

For getting the current location of the device:
ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION
ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION

For checking if device has an active Internet connection:
ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE

To send/receive data over Internet:
INTERNET

To improve the accuracy of the location information:
ACCESS_WIFI_STATE
CHANGE_WIFI_STATE

For getting an unique device identification to make a distinction between different devices that you would like to use with this App:
READ_PHONE_STATE

To show you the names of your friends, instead of just their numbers:
READ_CONTACTS

To restart the service when your phone/tablet is re-initiated:

To handle and receive the notification via the Google GCM platform:
