Time Guru Metronome for Android
Bought the app for my iPad a while ago and decided I needed it on my phone too, a Nexus 5X on the latest security update. The app is a must have in a musician's mobile app tool kit. However I'm experiencing quite a few crashes when changing parameters while the metronome is running which is slightly frustrating.
Great support and unique features.
Best metronome I've used. Subdivisions, odd measures, ridiculously editable. Love it.
As far as I can tell, there is no way to clear and start over
Really useful and purposeful program. I do wish there is a way to let the first beat make a different sound though. That would make this 5 stars. Cheers
**Still waiting for a widget option!** One of the best practice tools I've bought from the Play Store. Highly recommended! I've been using his app for a few years now... My dream of having a widget still hasn't come true: The ability to create a widget for one of my home screens, so I don't have to navigate the app drawer every time I need to use time guru is the one thing that prevents me from using it more.
Unique time keeper. Dropped beats are fantastic training tools.
How to operate the metronome I am not getting it
Very useful app, graduated muting for developing your internal clock. Agree with comment re needing different sound for first beat of bar
I'm not surprised that this is an excellent app, because Avi is a phenomenal musician, not to mention being extremely funky! I was looking for something with the training element, and this does that beautifully. I'm also delighted that you can easily combine measures of different lengths. Tons of great sounds, even voices in different languages! Wow. The only thing it doesn't do that I like is picking several accents per measure for flamenco, but I have another metronome for that. I was puzzled that people are griping about not being able to change the sound of that 1st beat in a measure. I wonder if they're just selecting "1" as the meter? Logically, that gives no accent. If you pick any number higher than "1", then the first beat is noticeably different. Admittedly some sounds may have a less obvious "one", but it's there. Maybe they meant actually putting a totally different sound on "one" to make it super obvious - it doesn't allow that. Avi, fabulous job!!!!!!!
I wanted it to find my intrest
I have been using a Dr Beat for 30 plus yrs but this app doesn't make rythmic sense when programming.
The best app for building consistent time. I have been using Time Guru for years now and I constantly recommend it to students and peers alike.
Best met money can buy.
was the best metronome app that I ever used, does not work with my new Android Moto Z play Update: turns out it does work great. For some reason does not broadcast its sound through one of my Bluetooth speakers. But I think that maybe a volume issue where the Bluetooth is not picking it up? Otherwise it works just great. Still the best metronome app
This app is the best... It lets you do subdivisions in any time signature...
Well I'm sure the non-musician designers and programmers are beaming with pride but this is more like a game than a metronome. It is not intuitive and instructions are useless.
Fantastic metronome if you are serious about training your internal sense of time. I don't agree with some of the negative reviews on here. Spend a little time reading the instructions on how to fully use this app and you will truly benefit.
Great learning tool.
Great for practice
While it's good as a metronome, its user interface is screwy since it will not respect the orientation of the tablet and will turn upside down. Why not turn my tablet the other way around since all of the other apps on it would turn? Because I have the power supply and audio output cables plugged in and they will not reorient on my music stand.
Works but poor button design/size /layout
Controls are too close together so you often click the wrong thing trying to click something else.
Sound does not play on Moto Z Play
Doesn't work on Moto E. I'd like my money back. Rhythm doesn't play correctly and the random muting is always on.
Layout is slightly small. End up turning on the mute instead of turning up the metronome. Also would like the option to pull up a dial for the metronome
I was skeptical at first but after using it I'm convinced it's all I need. A lot of metronomes don't go lower than 40 BPM. But this metronome scales from zero up AND does the subdivisions on those lower bpms for you. Very handy and easy to learn!
Does an amazing job. Very intuitive during setup. Has easy functionality for a beginner but has advanced applications for setting up more difficult tempos. The only drawback is the functions are arranged to closely on the screen so it is easy to select the wrong function which wastes time.
Please consider adding the ability to count measures, e.g. 1234, 2234, 3234, 4234. I have yet to find an app that can do that. Maybe add a 4th row at the top your UI to allow the user to divide into separate measures. Thanks.
The app is amazing but there's one very annoying flaw. 3 stars are for the developer's attention. When changing the tempo long pressing the left and right buttons, Unlike the ios version where it jumps to numbers ending in 5 or 0 (0,5,10,15..), on the Android version it jumps by 1 and then jumps by consecutive 5s. This jumping system makes no sense and makes it harder to reach the desired tempo. Please fix this ~~~. Other than that the app is fantastic. I'll 5☆ once this is fixed!
I use this metronome all of the time now, both for myself and with students. This metronome does what I wanted, and some things I didn't know I wanted. Fantastic!

Excellent app, bit of a problem with scrolling through to the right of the screen if programming longer cycles of clave for example... But overall excellent
Very good metronome with variety of sounds. Make your own rhythmic patterns. I use it in live situations also!
Great app. A little fussy to use but otherwise a great addition to my practise
Just what I was looking for. Loaded with features, yet very easy to use. An excellent app for honing your rhythm using ghost clicks. The perfect metronome app for Android.
Just programmed 4 Rumba and Son claves in about 5 minutes. Takes a bit of a learning curve, but highly recommend.
Great app! I especially like the random mute feature providing a true means to improve your time!
Bought this a couple years ago, but can't find it saved in my apps, but no biggie, WORTH BUYING TWICE!!
