Smart Finder for Android
The app just does not start only crashes! Please fix
I purchased this some time ago and it worked perfectly on my ols Samsung s3, tab 10 and Xperia z3. Systema were android 4.4, 4.4 and 5.0.2 respectively. Having upgraded the z3 to 5.1.1 and subsequently 6.0.1, it now finds the device, but won't pair. It still works pefectly on the samsungs, the tab running 5.1.1. I,ve been in touch with the makers who eventually tpld me it has something to do with the way Sony use the Bluetooth stack, but wouldn't investogate further. What a company!!
It is hard to actually find the Pally Smart Finder app since Pally isn't in the name and I had no idea who Ace Sensor is after ordering the device on Amazon. I'm using this with a new Pally Smart Finder fob and my Galaxy S5. Once set up it is working well for the 'Leash' function, which is why I wanted this technology - to tell me when I unintentionally walk away from my phone. The product fob only shipped with iPhone instructions, and this app is not very intuitive, especially for setting up Leash, so it
I'd give it a negative score. It says it's installed however it appears NOWHERE on my computer.
Finally actually lost my keys after having this for 6 mos. App crashes every time I try to ping the device. Good idea, just doesn't work.
Good
It is hard to actually find the Pally Smart Finder app since Pally isn't in the name and I had no idea who Ace Sensor is after ordering the device on Amazon. I'm using this with a new Pally Smart Finder fob and my Galaxy S5. Once set up it is working well for the 'Leash' function, which is why I wanted this technology - to tell me when I unintentionally walk away from my phone. The product fob only shipped with iPhone instructions, and this app is not very intuitive, especially for setting up Leash, so it is best to visit the Pally website and download the Android guide. I find that the medium range mode can still leave me un-notified at a distance of 24 feet in my house, so I am using the short range mode. The fob's beeper is loud enough that I hear it well when in my pocket, if it sounds off because my S5 is out of range. Once figured out, the app works OK, but it could be made with a more intuitive interface. Since I had no Android setup guide, I had to guess and tap on 'Find' to access the hidden Leash menu. They should have put Leash accessible from the Android Menu button typical to most apps.
Quick, two minute pair, and reliably works within Bluetooth range. Meets expectations.
Software won't recognize that my devices are paired and just keeps scanning. I've tried rebooting the app and devices nothing works. If you can't pair within the app, then you can't use it. Crap.
I bought the tags primarily for the leash function and it does work but it seems like it only works as long as you are still in Bluetooth range when the selected distance exceeded. I want to set it up for medium distance to let me walk around my office but sound off if I try to leave my office without my phone and keys. Unfortunately my building blocks the Bluetooth signal as soon as I walk out of my door so the alerts never happen. There should be an option to choose a distance or alert if signal is lost.

Besides the lack of features, the app most of the times goes to sleep on my samsung s5 (and i dont have any settings on that cause that). That causes the virtual leash to be completely unreliable. In fact it only works when you test it.
