The easy-use design of Acer clear.fi brings more innovation, simplicity and value to consumers. In the clear.fi digital home, it will be common for users to:
• Easily enjoy, acquire, store and access digital music from almost anywhere in the home or from the cloud.
• Effortlessly browse, manage, print and share digital photos.
• Carry favorite media content anywhere to enjoy while on the road.
• Enjoy distributed, multi-user content recording and playback.
This is crap, software that cannot uninstall from the device I own. If I could, I'd give 0 stars.
Would be great if it worked. I can see my computer, I can see my movies, music, and pictures folders and even the names of the files, however it says my can't read file type for my mp3's, can't view photo's, and can't play file for videos. Phooey, this could be awesome, please fix :-)
Hate that we are forced to have this on our tabs.
If I wanted a dlna tool i'd download one.
Stream directly to my LG TV. I wish I could install it on my Linux nas
I am disgusted that Acer forces this rubbish onto its,s customers without a way to uninstall ( without rooting).I paid a lot of cash for my A 500 and I would like to decide which app to keep or not. That applies to all bloatware Acer or any other manufacturer puts on our tablets. Shame on you, Acer.I demant an upgrade to all this apps with an uninstall option.
unstable, no settings where we can choose our preferences. as someone well said, this silly application does what it wants. there are surely much better alternatives to this.
Sorry, there are better free apps put there that do a better job. I can't even uninstall this on my Iconia A500.
I like it but would be nice if it could transfer or download other types of files, not just music, vids or pics 4 stars for that
Very slow hard to use. Takes forever to select all your songs.
This app is mainly for Acer tablets. Download if you want. but if it doesn't work, your screwed!!! Haha :-)
App crashes every time I click on media server. Can't even try it out. Very disappointing.
Not to sure why all the bad reviews, yes the UI is not the greatest but it does work. Maybe people just don't understand how to network.
Slow, freezes, fairly useless but what's the alternative
I like it, it if you have your network set up correctly then it works. Was able to view pics, videos etc on my tablet that's on my desktop. Pretty sweet if you ask me. And no my desktop ain't wireless.
Absolutely sucks. Glad I'm rooted and can delete this ish.
This is unacceptable. Broadcast everything without permission by default .
I don't want it. Let me uninstall it.
Adds no value to the tablet, poor GUI and doesn't even work as advertised.
For some insane reason dis is preinstaled but doesn't work at all
Love the tablet hate this program. Since recent update the program is duplicating every media file on my tablet. Contact to Acer support has not addressed the issue. Not having issue with 3rd party apps. Expect a native media player to work.
Junkware how do i uninstall
Can only use on my own network. If I'm home, I can just use my computer to play media files. Dumb concept. put on cloud or give me the option to uninstall and customize the tablet that I paid for.
My tablet came with this along with four other nearly IDENTICAL apps. I have no use for it so I tried to uninstall it and to my luck I could not. Also, it turns on whenever I enable wifi to burn the heck out of my battery.
I had an A500 and this app worked fine, recognized my home server and would stream videos with no problem. I upgraded to an A510 and now it sees my home server but says the device may be disconnected or unavailable. My network is set up properly, it must be something about this new tablet.
Could be good if it wasnt so useless. Totally out of control, does what it wants, not what you whant
Maybe you find it useful, but I do not, and would appreciate the ability to uninstall it. If I were able to uninstall it, I might give it a second chance, but as of now, it is bloatware in my eyes.
This is hands down the best app on a tablet for sharing data with other multimedia devices. Its not bloatware and even with root its useful
Can't uninstall bloat bloat bloat
This upnp media app must have been well ahead of its time when last updated in 2011 and in some aspects it is still ahead of the competition. I mainly use it as a media controller on an A500 to stream music from an ext HD on a W7 machine to a Sony Blue Ray DNLA wifi via spdif to a Sony AV amp! Fabulous stuff. It is however, unlike its description, not very intuitive at all! How does one make a playlist for instance? Album art is also a bit slow, even though it is supposedly cached?
Seems like most of the low reviews are by people who don't know how to set up a home network properly. This app can see all the computers on my network with out a problem. Seems like using widows media player is the best option with this app.
If I can't uninstall it or clean out the cache at the least...simply sucks. The is a photo cache file that has a bunch of junk pics I cleaned out when I synced my work files.
This is not easy use design. I can't figure out how to stop music if I go somewhere else, unless I start playing something else instead.
This is some funny stuff. It shows everything I own but can't play anything. What a waste of time. Trust me you won't get any answers either.
Came bundled with my A500. Doesn't work with my home DLNA server. Doesn't work with the DLNA servers at work (I work for a large entertainment electronics company) The app can see the DLNA servers, but claim they are empty. It makes me wonder why Acer allows this junk to be pre-installed.
Note: I have and use this with the media server app. I see all shared folders in the wifi network I am in. I see the shared/public folder of our windows PCs and laptops. I can also remember seeing other mobile devices if they are dlna enabled and are sharing their media files. I can play their videos, music and even show their pictures on the respective dlna enabled display i want it to show by holding down on the media file and pressing play on the other devices. The layout is simple for me and easy to navigate. So I am just really wondering why this app has so many negative reviews...it really is a nice app if you just put aside the fact that you can't uninstall it and that it is limited to few popular video, audio and picture file types and codecs. (Please do add some more compatibility with other types, devs.)
Pre-installed, offering something I neither want nor need. And yes, I have a proper home network. No one - I repeat - NO ONE - likes to be force-fed. Young babies disapprove - loudly - if you attempt to make them eat carrots when they only like peas and squash. What would make you think that adults would like it any better? So...how 'bout y'all take a bloody hint and quit angering your customers by loading equipment *I* paid good money for with often useless bloatware!
It works well with no lag on my wifi, but it needs to show more. Also we just use this when we can't access our gallery because it lags. Oh, the share option doesn't work either.
Came with my Acer a200. Let's me browse media on from my desktop and watch movies on my tablet in bed. Not sure what all the negativity is about. It does what it is supposed to if set up correctly.

If you want a dlna app that works, download SKIFTA. You will also need a media player. This stock app blows.
