Graffiti Pro for Android for Android
Lovely, but don't expect to be able to type as fast as you could on a PalmPilot. Something (maybe the ABS plastic of the old styli, maybe) made me able to go faster than I can with a finger or an S-Pen. Also, it has trouble registering punctuation; it often thinks you're trying to draw a very tiny character. This problem didn't exist in the original Palm OS.
Gave up on this input method a few years ago because it didn't work on my new Note 3. Just happened to try it again today & was shocked to see that its finally been fixed. WOOHOO! I agree with other reviewers that it seems a little oversensitive in detecting touches. Would be perfect if that could be fixed, and would help more people adopt Graffiti.
Loved Graffiti on my old Palm Zire so happy to see it on Android. But it doesn't work on my phone. The help says long press on any text box to change the input method, but that doesn't work for me. Any suggestions welcome.
I had the original Graffiti app with ads on my XiaoMi RedNote phone. Recently, I bought the Asus Zenpad 7 and searched for this app in the Play Store. I found there's now Graffiti Pro. Installed it on the Zenpad and I'm very happy with it. When I saw it is a free app, I uninstalled the original Graffiti from my phone and installed the Pro version. But when I switched keyboard to use it, there was a message about the passkey being wrong. Where do I get the passkey?
Oh how I have missed this! I was going to buy an old palm unit as this was always the fastest way for me to type. Now I have it back again. It is free but I'd definately purchase it if I needed to. Definately a massive thumbs up. Thank you.
I really love this input method which I have used since the good old PalmPilot. But I would like to see more customization in the application. E.g. the size of the input area. To be able to turn on or off the suggestions. To choose language for suggestions. I'm also really lacking the "shortcut" stroke that allowed creating your own shortcuts, as well as using some predefined shortucts. E.g. ds could be used to enter a datestring. This was very convenient when writing log files. If these were added, it would almost be perfect. (To be perfect I would need be able to enter Hebrew as well.)
Great! Ticks all the boxs. A Graffiti 2 option with caps on the letter/number border would be even better! Now someone is supporting this development how about some more customisations? Wallpapers from images or transparency percent showing app under graffiti pad? Now that would be cool!
Great app and works very well in my phone. Only thing to add is support for more languages, like Spanish
The input is a bit over-sensitive: it reads my "punctuation poke" as a short movement and thinks I mean "i" sometimes, so some sort of calibration setting would be useful. But otherwise it's much improved and really very welcome. Bravo!
I started using Graffiti back in the Apple Newton days, then on a Palm Pilot. On Android, it's faster still. Swype was an improvement over a regular tap-tap keyboard, but Graffiti is so much faster and more intuitive. Thank you, Access! UPDATE - Had to stop stop using Graffiti on Galaxy S4 due to screen real estate. Now that I'm on an S7, that is not an issue. Glad to have it back.
I complianed almost 4 years ago about the small text input area, finally!! :) thank you for the fix!
Just tried this on my LgG4 but if really works Great. The writting area is the right size. Well done.Grafitt is Back.
Graffitti input ftw! The only issue i have is that I can't switch back to another keyboard unless I go to the settings.
works perfectly WITH finger only - but with stylus only - tapping to bring up the dot (for puncuation) doesn't work - please please please sort this bug out - then it would be brilliant!
The best input method ever invented. Reasonaby easy to learn and very worth learning. This revamped version makes the famous and classic tool usable again on modern smartphones.
Crashes
I truly appreciate being able to use the Palm Pilot-like feature because it's faster for me & no issues w/on screen keyboards!
Just like Graffiti I used on Palm devices from 1998 thru only a couple of years ago. No more poking tiny keys! Miraculous!
May this be around forever. Love it. Once learned, graffiti is most efficient & lovely.
Can't make it active kb in Android 7 Nougat
But please add feature to resize the writing field. It is too big for me using tablet. And add other language dictionaries
Turns out my muscle memory from my Tandy Zoomer days is still good! So happy to find this keyboard, it's excellent.
has issues with period and won't show stroke menu on Samsung s6
Grafiti Pro is great! Way to address the small skinny screen thing!
This doesn't work on Android 5.1.1 Samsung tablet.
Thanks for update - old version was too small on DNA & Turbo. New version BIG. Maybe too big, but better than too small.
I love this keyboard, im so happy its back. It's the perfect keyboard for the Samsung Note, it should be included, but still some small things I hope could be fixed: every time I try to do the dot to make a symbol it registers a letter, there should be some way to adjust the sensitivity, or the size of the strokes that can be registered as letters. Also it really does need Spanish, and French dictionaries urgently. And last it also needs the Google Dictation button. Please add those things...
Writing area too small once upgraded to Note 4. Had to uninstall. Grateful for the upgrade. Havent used Graffiti in so long I almost forgot how. But it all came back to me in a few quick strokes. Beats the Google and Samsung handwriting keyboards. Its faster because you can write Ietters on top of each other and you dont have to wait for the words to scroll left before you can type again. Four stars only cause you cant make punctuation marks with stylus. Have to stop and use my fingers everytime.
LOVE Graffiti Pro! Not sure if I like height fix or not, I've gotten so used to the tiny writing space! It's awesome. Much faster than typing on faux android the keyboard. It's the 'bomb'!
I used Graffiti on PalmOS devices since the first came out, and I was so disappointed when it was replaced by other HWR programs and keyboards. While no HWR is perfect, Graffiti does provide for "heads-up" writing. Because all the strokes are written one on top of the other, you can write a continuous stream of text quickly and surprisingly accurately without even looking at the screen. You can be looking AT the person you are talking to while still writing accurate notes.
THANK YOU!!!!!!!! i just installed it again on a whim to see if i can use it with the small writing area on my nexus 5 only to discover that i had a nice big spacious writing area!!!! oh my gosh, this is soooooo amazing! thank you thank you thank you thank you! ------------------------- UPDATE: gah, got a note 4 to take advantage of graffiti in the best way possible but unfortunately, there's a weird bug with graffiti where if you take out the pen, whether you use it or not, writing, especially puntuation becomes next to impossible. still very usable if you don't pull out the pen but would be a dream to be able to use the pen with graffiti. if you guys have any spare engineers, please please please take a look at this issue. thanks much! ----- UPDATE 2: ok, it's not an issue with the pen per se or the removal of the pen. it happens with your finger too - the writing area is just so sensitive that it's almost impossible to make a single DOT. and that makes punctuation impossible. so again, if you guys have anyone working on the app, please fix! thanks!
Review with version 1.0.5 on Nexus 5x. After some disappointing versions of app crashes, Graffiti Pro is stable again. Graffiti is the easiest most graceful "keyboard" app. If you ever owned a Palm OS device this app gives back the same input you've already learned. The resized input area is an improvement over 1.0.2. One minor improvement request, allow users to set the height of the input area. This doesn't take away from the overall usefulness of the app.
This input system was my "go-to" method for years, until the writing area got too small to be useful. Recent updates have fixed the problem, and I have my Graffiti system back. Many thanks to the devs!
I started using Graffiti on an old Palm Pilot, and quickly became a believer in Jeff Hawkins' vision. "And then it came to me in a flash. Touch-typing is a skill you learn." Just like touch typing is better than hunt-and-peck typing, Graffiti is much better than standard touchscreen keyboards. I purchased this app a long time ago and only had one real disappointment which they recently fixed. For the longest time they did not patch an issue regarding screen resolution and fixed writing area sizes, which caused the writing area to get smaller with each new phone. A recent update has fixed that and made the writing area scale much better (I'm on an extreme end of the spectrum with a Galaxy Note 4 and it actually scales to almost "too big") As it is, the app works wonderfully and my only issue is a very minor one that doesn't significantly impact usage. Since the Galaxy Note 4 comes with a high precision stylus... the stylus is essentially too precise for the writing area. Because of this, it's hard to do a punctuation shift, as a single tap can too easily make enough of a shape to be recognized as anything else. 4-stars due to lack of configurability.
Great to get updates again, now using graffiti on sony z5 running marshmallow - best input since I had to give up my Clie. Text input is c50% faster
Graffiti didn't really go away, but I had to stop using it when it stopped getting Updated. So very glad to see the new Updates. This is the BEST!
My favorite "keyboard" since Handspring days is FIXED for hi-res screens. Thank you! Now: This thing is badly needed for smartwatches. This will work in that environment where nothing else will.
Great app and works very well in my phone. Only thing I would add is more languages to the list. I write in Spanish
Have used graffiti thru many renditions on Palm and Android, and even expected it to replace qwerty as a preferred input method (as it has for me). Now, have reinstalled due to phone replacement and 'Pro' on Motorola G cannot reliably interpret common strokes as o, x, g, m, e. I end up deleting many times to make any prggress. Goop luck, budpy. And may the Fgrce be with you. Today I have returned, fed up with thf bfhavior gf 'pro' and intending to recind my 1 star. Even so, I am hoping for a version on IOS

Sadly, no longer works with Marshmallow version of Android. I've used this app with earlier versions of Android, and I really liked it. It uses specific simplified strokes for each letter - exactly like the old Palm Pilots used to do. (I know, I am older than dirt.) It's the most efficient, accurate way to input with handwriting that I've ever found. Alas, handwriting input has gotten too fancy and less reliable.
