Acapela TTS Voices for Android
CUSTOMIZABLE! I liked SVOX's editor, but Acapella blows them away. (See the editor inside the app and visit their site for Output Optimizations and Vocal Smileys.) If you don't like the way something is pronounced, you can change it. I bought US English "Tracy," which I believe is far superior to Google's voices. You can save your dictionary, too. Dev's, please don't let the negative reviews discourage you.
was hoping this came with a simple voice to test out its capability as a TTS engine.. Unfortunately there is no demo voice included to properly test out its capability. frankly, only giving the ability to read out a couple sentences, and then expecting me to pay $4 for the full voice is utterly rediculous!
Well, I was happy to find Acapela TTS Voices to be my #1 text to speech app with voices aplenty. I hope the next update includes at least to the maximum of ten for aargh, breathing, clicking, coughing, laughing and crying, mmm, sleeping, sneezing, swallowing, throat clearing, whistling, and yawning sounds. Even if it's too much, I'm gonna enjoy with what I got.
This is by far the best affordable text to speech app I've ever seen. It has so many voices to choose from to match your needs. I think it's great for autistic people who are only occasionally nonverbal, as it allows easy and reliable communication during those times
Holy crap! $7+ for a SINGLE synthesized voice. I think not! Maybe $7 for the ability to access ALL of the voices. App doesn't even come with ONE!!! no thanks! I'll be moving on... GL with your app. You'll be needing it. Wow. If you're looking to PAY for a tts voice try CereProc or even Voxygen. Better business model than bending you over and... Well... You know.
Hi, lg g5 when moving menus they turn black, please patch and update. No internal settings can be changed this way.
Demo doesn't actually function, you can hear the voices but they don't change pitch, volume or speed, they just read exactly the same regardless. No way to use the demo to see if the product actually works in the application you want it for, as because it's an IAP you have no play store refund process. Could be great, but demo will not inform the potential buyer.
This is a superior replacement to SVOX classic. SVOX has stopped developing and responding to new versions of android. Acapela continues to improve over SVOX
Some great voices, and I love that you can edit the pronunciation of particular words.
after installing it wont open! it keeps saying "u dont have a Google play account configured" ???????? wht is wrong with this thing??? (online the whole time)
Been using this tts for a while now. I use it all day long with TalkBack, which is a screen reader for the blind. It is responsive and reliable. Far better than the default.
At $4 per voice you guys must be smoking something over there. No free testers either and the demos sounded all distorted.
this App was amazing, doesn't work any more-will update when it does again because it is a 5 star app when working.
I love ryans voice. Cant see why some one would give this 1 star.
Rip off. 11euro for an avg voice?
OMG YES PURPLE SHEP HERE I COME!!!
I cant find what voice i want for my youtube channel and it wont save any voice
Very good. If there was a woman's voice for Greek Language, I would rate with 5 stars.

How can you download a voice message into mp3?

I rate a 4 on this app.
LEMME SMASH
Good quality voices, doesn't stutter on my S4
Ko qwalitie
Prefer ivona. Less robotic.
Nope
I've come to adore these voices, and they are what bumps up this app to a 4. Yes, they cost money, but they are worth it for people like me who listen to hours of tts on the daily. Check out their website--you can see the special expressions and noises each voice is capable of (ie ##LAUGH1## or something. And phrases like "Yes! Or Wonderful! Or even less appropriate ones lol)
The voices have unique personalities. At the moment I use Will badguy with pitch at 70 and my phone has a voice, to me, like the Saw voice from the movies or something from Mortal Combat. I like it much more than the default, which most sighted friends and even my mom found annoying if I was without headphones. Also, all the stuff on the web sight like recording a persons' voice to use as TTS is AWESOME!
very very bad! standard Google TTS much much better. No sense to use this tts, at all, for real.
All the United Kingdom voices sound posh, like I'm talking to the Queens daughters or her self, none of the voices are East England, Peterborough, or Londoners, the little kids voices are creepy, really need to update your list
All you do is wright. If you dont want to talk use this app. It even has purple sheps voice so if your a purple shep fan then you will love this app.
Voices are staticky and low quality compared to the competition. They also lack the ability to change inflection based on punctuation, such as going up in pitch at the end of questions (they respond to some of the more common questions appropriately, but nothing else). This might be fine for someone wanting a voice to play around with or represent their device's "voice," but for serious, heavy use (for example an AAC voice for those who cannot speak), this absolutely won't work. Thankfully, there are other TTS engines on the Android market that do.
I totally agree the voices are great but I find it lags and stutters and occasionally will read a word wrong.
The voices are very poor compared to the standard Google TTS and don't offer much of a difference. The Scottish one is terrible, it seems to swap between an English and Scottish accent depending on the word.
Acapella has great voices and the Android support for TTS is the best there is on any platform. Now though for the bad, this voice even when set as default is not used by google maps, or google voice, unless my data goes out... Very is disappointing indeed as I really don't like the tiny woman aspect is the google speech packages. Back too the app that manages three Acapella voices, it for some reason likes to delete my voices at random as I use it to test the voices and make changes to the voices.
