About LectureRecordings

LectureRecordings is an Android app for audio recording, mainly while taking handwritten notes using LectureNotes.

It has been designed while having a user at university (or at school) in mind, for instance a lecturer who is using it for recording her/his lecture while teaching using LectureNotes (by writing on the device and projecting the screen content for the audience) or a student who is using it for recording the lecture's audio while taking handwritten notes during a lecture. However, it has many potential applications outside university, for instance in business or technology.

Its major target devices are tablets with Android 3.0 or later.

NOTE: Even though this app can be used on its own, it is mainly intended to serve as an extension for LectureNotes and is best used in conjunction with it. If you wish to record audio while taking handwritten notes, please launch LectureNotes and start audio recording there, the audio files will be stored within the corresponding notebook directory.

User feedback:
We would love to hear from you, please send feedback and feature requests to us by email (devel [a] acadoid.com). If you encounter a problem with the app, please email us and we will do our very best to fix it quickly.

Major features:
* requires only minimal permissions and no internet connection (we do respect your privacy!)
* allows audio signals to be recorded and replayed
* allows lectures (and other audio signals) to be recorded in a synchronized fashion while taking handwritten notes using LectureNotes (requires LectureNotes to be installed)
* allows lectures (or other recorded audio signals) to be replayed in a synchronized fashion together with the handwritten notes taken using LectureNotes (requires LectureNotes to be installed)

See the help page https://www.acadoid.com/apps/lr/help/ for more details.

Possible issue: For good audio quality, it is advisable to use an external microphone, in particular when taking notes with a stylus with a hard tip in parallel (the noise that the tip causes on the device display and human voices are in the same frequency range and the former cannot be filtered away reliably).

Works great for my business needs.

I LOVE Lecturenotes so far! The recordings functionality is pretty basic at this point. i would love to see some way to link parts of the recording to specific written notes, like in Livescribe for instance (SO SO useful!). Also maybe some options for speed up of playback and skipping dead spaces. Still, all in all, a great app!

Great companion to Lecture Notes. It's the best for recording lecture videos.

Just got this extensions a few days ago for Samsung Chromebook plus with stylus. There was a small bug to replay the videos which was resolved immediately by contacting the developer. This whole set with Lecturenotes is full of features and great to use. Still learning though. The customer service is even better.

Most configuable of all the apps I tried. Pens are not as nice looking as some other apps but for note taking this is perfect.

For some reason it won't work on my phone. It just says it's an Android problem. Same with the "Start Recording" feature on Lecture Notes. Would have definitely gotten a refund for both apps if the two hour long limit hadn't passed.

Every time I try to record I get the "security issue (cannot record audio)" error. On my Android 6

Had trouble with microphone permissions and they responded to my email within minutes! The app works exactly like I hoped it would.

Best app, even better than onenote for android. Choose this over squid.

I got a problem recording on my new phone yesterday and got same day response from the development team. The problem was just due to the permission settings on the new Android version. Now it's working perfectly again. It's still my top choice in making meeting notes.

I liked this app a lot until I noticed at the end of the semester that every single record was arbitrarily discontinued after a few minutes. Instead of 90 minutes, the app stopped the record itself, sometimes after 40 minutes, sometimes after 15 minutes and some records don't even last 2 minutes. That happend even though I tried to ensure that the little microphone icon was twinkling all the time, indicating me that the app was still recording. I am angry and disappointed.

App wouldn't playback recordings when I first downloaded it. Emailed the developer and he fixed the issue immediately. App works great 5 stars.

3 hour lectures most ended up only playing back 10s-10m of material. Very dissapointed. At first I had a couple recordings and noticed most of them were only a few minutes long even though I had recorded for 3 hours, only 1 recording could play back with the full 3 hours. I assumed it was user error and 5 more lectures, I made sure the recording icon was always blinking. I purposely never shut off the screen during breaks and made every effort I can not to disrupt the recording. Turned off the recording before closing the app. But it failed. All 5 recorded lectures are worthless at a few seconds to a few minutes long.

Nice for reviewing class lecture alongside my notes, but needs a way to adjust replay speed so I can review faster.

Y70%

This is an excellent app for taking and recording notes for university. Perfect for all subjects and power point lectures. This plus lecture notes writing app make the best combination

G70%

Use it to record my lectures. I love the "search recordings" function that allows me to choose a part of my notes and replays what was said at that moment it was written. My only issue is it isn't always accurate and doesn't jump right to the exact spot of the lecture, but is usually within +/- 3 minutes. Is there any way to fix this dev? I will change to 5 stars when this is fixed. Otherwise wonderful product:)

I really enjoy the app, but what if we need to utilize on ta desktop? Will yall be making a compatible one for windows?

K70%

The quality of the audio recording is clear and the volume adequate not only for the professor but the students as they comment. I do struggle with the unintuitive way that pictures are taken in LectureNotes. If I take a picture during the lecture, it places itself over my notes and when I attempt to move it to a blank area, I lose the bounding box! Not good. I really want to know how to do this. I tried using Lecture Recording injuction with Lecuture Notes and they did not work well together. Both Apps would occasionally crash while using them both. Also, I was not able to recored more then a few minutes while it was running in the background.

I would just like to see two essential (to me) playback features: skip forward/back a few seconds and increase/decrease playback speed. I used to use the Livescribe smart pens for my class notes and I really miss these two features.

Awesome app for G. Note 10.1. Price is fair. One thing that could be better is to prompt PDFView install immediately upon first launch, figuring out the PDF import otherwise takes a while. I would also like a possibility to import page from PDF into an existing notebook just like the images are imported.
