ABBYY Lingvo Dictionaries

Hello, I am russian guy, living in England and I can say that this dictionary is one of the best on the market along with Google translate, Yandex.Translate and Promt which I use as well. It provides very comprehensive translation of words with examples which I can use in my everyday conversations. Also I like to check ponouncation of different new words, it increases my confidence of using them on the next day at work. Quality of pronouncation is much better than in Google translate. Google makes mistakes. And finally American pronounciation has started functioning. Great job guys. I love it.

Recent update has a noticeable drawback! In the Universal Russian-English dictionary there is a button for sound in American English, though it does not work! Anytime I try to press the button to hear the sound I get nothing. Please fix this and keep improving the app! All in all I still think that it's the best dictionary app! My highest recommendations! Very useful for all people who learn foreign languages.

This app is absolutely useless for me right now, the search isn't working at all, just giving me a blank page. Please fix it or give me my money back. I've wasted over 30 bucks on all those dictionaries.

Has changed three phones since i started using this ap. Love it, but the restore purchase option is far too deep into the menus. Takes me some time to figire out how to get my dictionaries back up amd useful

Disappointed to learn option to create index cards is unavailable here (unlike iOS version). Too bad I realised it after I bought a dictionary. Also Dutch dictionary is only available in pair with Russian, and not English.

This is an excellent dictionary with a flaw: Accents on Russian words are not always shown and are not shown at all for inflected forms. While this may be true for other languages as well, Russian word stress is especially irregular and a stumbling block for foreigners. Otherwise, 5 stars.

I've been using lingvo for years, it is really one of the best. But now I have an "Exception while initializing engine on my samsung a3. Could you please assist me with this issu? I'd like to take advantage of this app again. Thanks!

Content is okay, but GUI looks outdated. I also would like to have a quicker way to start searching for words, like a widget. Or just reduce the time to launch the app.

Hi guys, I realized that the android aplication has a bug. For the English words, when I want to listen the pronouncing only british sound button gives an actual sound. The american pronouncing button does not react at all. This is kind of pitty, cause online site version acts correctly. It would be great if you will be abble to fix this issue. The dictionaries are good, but the program... A couple months ago after update the two window mode stop working with this app. This is really inconvenient, you need infinitely to switch between two programs (Nexus 9). And there is no such great feature like watching over the changes in clipboard. And now the main window is always divided on two columns and this doesn't configurable.

One of the best dictionary engines and dictionary delivery system. The support team is super professional. Fixed my all problems by just asking one question. I am happy user again. Thanks.

Definitely worth spending money on dictionaries for such a neat offline dictionary application! Must have for keen language learners!!! Please add dark theme cause eyes get tired quickly while reading from the bright white background. Thanks ABBYY Team!

Guys, you're usability genius! The search bar must be there on every screen! I type a word in the search bar. The app returns its translation. To search for another word I have to... first tap "back" and only then type my word. // Ребята, вы гении юзабилити! Строка поиска должна оставаться на экране все время! Как у вас? Я набираю слово, получаю перевод. Чтобы найти новое слово мне надо... ткнуть "назад" и только после этого строка поиска снова возникает на экране. Невероятно удобно!!! #сарказм

The basical English Russian dictionary doesn't contain even an elementary words should to be there. I really think it doesn't make sense for modest users like me not having the money to pay a dictionaries there...

It's high time to fix the problem with synchronization on different devices... I bought and downloaded on one device and could not download on other because I still have to buy second time...

The free dictionaries simply don't appear after downloading them, that is either an app problem or is simply misleading. Given that the Russian dictionaries are working, it might be that the other dictionaries are there to mislead us into thinking that it has lots of free dictionaries.

The app continues to crash in English>Russian mode, even after multiple updates and uninstall/reinstall. Please fix

The app is perfect. To the developers: Could you please guys add the tutor? Even a paid addition of tutor would be perfect. And one more: please add the multi account support, I cannot pay for the dictionaries, using my old account, cause now live in another country but among the payment opportunities there is only my old account to choose, or probably it is a Google play issue.

Collins dictionary does not work, even though it is possible to download.

Live translate button does not always activate camera on my Samsung Galaxy S7, the screen is black. Pressing camera button in photo mode can crash the app. Please fix.

Reinstalled after a while and cannot restore purchase for a dictionary for which I once payed over 30€. Awfull

I bought couple dictionaries (Russian - English), but the button of the American pronunciation doesn't work.

Live translate mode does not activate camera/torch on my Nexus 4 (Lollipop 5.1.1), the screen is black. But it works fine in photo mode and live mode after I switch back to live mode from photo mode.

Favorite feature: looking up definitions within other apps by "sharing" the word with ABBYY. Missing feature: saving a list of favorite words. Well worth the price to install additional dictionaries.

Dictionary integration failed. GUI looks nice. Best looking dictionary compatible with MoonReader+.

А где кнопочка в контекстном меню, когда я выделяю текст в любом приложении? Ну чтобы сразу открыть выделенное в Вашей программе? Мультитран и гугл транслейт так умеют!

Dont bothr downloading you will have to buy the dictinary

Нема можливості спробувати користування словником без купівлі. Тільки 10 українських словників, а в Lingvo Live ці словники відсутні в переліку

Распознавание текста с фото - очень полезная вещь. Есть и небольшие недостатки, например не узнает перенесенное слово, или не реагирует на поворот екрана.

Please, add paste button in the field for entering the word. The main idea of dictionary is to translate words from clipboard. Now it is inconvenient to paste a word from clipboard.

На предыдущем смартфоне у меня была инсталлирована платная версия этой программы. Сейчас я не вижу возможности сгрузить её на Play store, зато в бесплатной версии надо отдельно платить за словари. Я считаю, что это неверный подход. Прошу вернуть купленную мною версию в Play store. Update: Оказывается, ранее купленные словари можно сгрузить бесплатно. Спасибо команде словаря за инструктаж.
