FineScanner Pro - PDF Document Scanner App + OCR

After several uses, I'm very pleased with this app. It does well what it claims to do.

I've tried a few document scanners and I find this app does the best job.

I've used Text Grabber for over a year now, and this tool is its perfect addition to my toolbox. Now, I can have pictures with their original texts too. My favorite feature is the sizing tool, because it's SO easy to use, and the final result is exactly what I want. Resizing is an absolute pain with other scanners. Not with this. It lives up to its claims. Get it. You'll be happy. I know I am.

Using 2015 Moto X Pure / after recent update the recognition still fails (90%+) on first attempt. It is usually successful after second attempt. How can the first attempt nearly always fail but the second attempt nearly always succeed. Would it be a problem on my end? Hopefully other users can share their experience. If it is just me I can try to find the problem. Update: Tried 2014 Moto X = same results (recognition fails on first attempt). Tried tablet (Samsung Tab S2) = camera not very good but success on first attempt.

Stupid app. Simple conversion of two jpg files to pdf and it blacked out half the picture on one of the files. Only thing I did was crop the edges, no fiddling with settings, nothing. Can't manage even such a simple task.

It is paid app for "scanning" and it doesn't have even simple settings of contrast or brightness. No zoom while cropping image. Don't recommend: there are lot of competitor apps in play store with better functionality.

I bought this app thinking that it will do a lot more than what my camera can do without it. It does create pdf files and text recognition of created files, but editing (such as cropping and saving) and saving my multi-page pdf pages is most ungainly. I have tried it in this Samsung Galaxy S6 and I have to get save the pdf pages in Photo Editor, edit and save there! I haven't found a way to merge multiple pdf pages into a single document. Also, to save a scanned document as a formatted text file, one has to purchase yet another app from this company This app does not have enough tools to give added value beyond what my built-in phone camera and email tools together can do. I want a refund!

Sorry if anyone has read my old comment....It supports cloud uploading but only it is not as apparent as other APPs such as ScanBot. Nevertheless, the iOS version is still better than the Android version, by far. Having the hope that if the developers would do something about it.

The only way this could be a better scanner is if it came wrapped in bacon. ABBYY has THE best recognition algorithm. I highly recommend checking out the PC version, as well. DO IT!

On Huawei Mate 8 crop doesn't work correctly. Only half of the picture of the original cropped image is remained and it is stretched.

Receipt scans are not as enhanced as another app I'm using... Leaves paper wrinkles in scans... Will continue to use for OCR only until it gets better...

It keeps saying "waiting for uploading" what does this mean? Why isnt it working??? Help!! ITS NOT UPLOADING

Not ideal, maybe, but really well. Recognising Ukrainian (instead of others), no problems with russian. Pictures, usually, putted in right place. Text formatting is good. But not without troubles :-) Pictures quality not well. Looks like bad camera work. It cause nothing to recognising, but annoy if you need good quality pictures.

I am giving one star because there was no clarification regarding handwriting recognition. Wasted my time- money is a joke, of course.

I've been looking for an application like this for a while and it works really well. The fact that you can scan and change your scan into different formats is great and the OCR is excellent. There are other programs that clean up the scan a little bit better in my opinion but the fact that you can extract the scanned text into another format with images is awesome. This is comparable to Microsoft Office lens but even better since you can add multiple pages at once.

Unable to identify even printed characters. Ok OCR. Takes too much time to upload and download. It will be better if software size is increased and this feature is incorporated within the app, so that not only the uploading and downloading time duration is decreased, but also the Internet charges are brought down

Great app, but how is our privacy guaranteed when recognising my documents to and from your servers. Also needs more image refining filters to clarify dull photos.

Very good product, I've been using it on iOS for years. Android version I think better due to its openness and access to file system makes entire process faster for productivity. I like how you can combine multiple files into one PDF and save it into any folder.

Nice app. But also worry about the privacy. Suggest to add a local recognize method, and let user choose which method to use while recognizing, server or local.

Thanks for the great sale! Please make a similar sale at the Windows app. I would happily buy if the price was around $10.

Cool app but it will be better and private, if it can OCR directly on device like what FineReader can do on computer.

Thanks abbyy company has reduced the price of the software. Very meaningful for me many thanks for that.

Excellent app

I can take photos of tables & export them to excel with the same format. But takes time to upload to Abbyy's server, process & download the data.

A scanned text should be send to servers of the ABBYY company for recognition. It makes businessmen worry about their financial data, contacts and contracts they are scanning with your Scanner. Of course it increases the quality of recognition and allows to get rid of language modules, but privacy is more important thing then size of the app and even the quality of recognition. Unless it works without internet it's only OK for occasional home usage (without personal data) and for such money is useless.Sorry
