Jauary 2017: After one free scan you are required to purchase a subscription.Abby is a good OCR but this app should not be advertised as free. July 6th, 2017 UPDATE: I reinstalled the app and I stand by my comment that it must not be advertised as "free document scanner" because the publisher misleads you and "free" only means "free to download". When you select the "recognize" option the app goes to the "purchase" offer and does not recognize texts for free. I am just asking the Company to be clear about this. It's a waste of your time to download the app thinking you will get any free OCR. Fortunately there are many other TRUE free OCR apps to chose. Those who want to pay for OCR are "free" to use Abbyy's app.

It's so far the best scanning and OCR app I have come across. I paid for it within minutes. The only problem is when I try to extract text from an image, it's take very long time. It is either showing the uploading icon for a long time or "waiting to upload " icon. Defeats the entire purpose. Otherwise, if you are not in a hurry and you need to scan and OCR multiple documents, simply put them in a queue and go on doing something else. It would be helpful if the OCR could be done quicker.

Excellent crop facility, the best among scanners and good image quality too. Unfortunately it's ridiculously priced in the form of monthly subscription. A one time payment would be fine. Further In iOS it offers few more features.

Auto subscribes so make sure you unsubscribe before the trial ends as you get no warning. Office lens is free and works better than this. Ridiculous monthly fee and poor functionality earns this one star.

It did not recognise my first document. Straight to purchase on second document. Uninstalled then reinstalled - took my picture with text and put in pdf. It did not convert to text. Crap!!!!!!!!. Shame because I like their desktop apps.

сканер не очень качественный. диалоги и меню надо улучшить. главный недостаток - нет возможности коррекции скана по деформации снимка, удаления например "бочкообразности", которая возникает если документ лежит негоризонтально. только обрезки прямыми недостаточно

Все бы хорошо, но нет элементарных функций. Например, совершенно невозможно работать с файлами больше одной страницы, так как страницы нельзя отсортировать между собой, они будут в случайном или обратном порядке (уточню, речь идет о загрузке фото из галереи. Однако при фотографировании также нельзя ничего поменять. Чуть перепутали порядок в длинном документе - переснимайте заново). Ни под каким предлогом не распознает таблицы. Обрезает страницы исключительно криво, как будто в случайном порядке. Границы страницы видны четко, но режет по центру и еще криво. Что делает хорошо - это распознает обычный текст. Но как замена сканеру (что рекламируется) не работает.

Purchased for the book scanner application, and there is no option to scan book on the app, even though the video shows that you can scan books and it converts book pages. I am a college student and this would be useful for me if it worked the way the video showed.
