most of the issues I was having with this app was due to my crappy phone. now on note 8 it still disconnects but with less frequency. still some work to done here. today it disconnected and refused to work until I uninstalled and reinstalled then rebooted phone.

Great bulb, terrible app. No Tasker integration. No trigger when I leave house to return to a color my wife can live with until I get back. No smart hub intergration. No voice control. Weak widget. Theses are issues that I learned how to resolve without any coding experience over the course of two months of self teaching. These issues are just too easy to fix not to. Just give it tasker intergration and leave the rest to people who know how to build apps. 10 minutes fix.

Great bulbs. Horrible app.

I like the bulbs but the app is a little awkward to use. For instance there are on off buttons but it doesn't tell you the current state. If there is a way to set the color for a timer I couldn't fi nd it. In the end thpugh I am happy with the purchase and will buy more.

by R####:

The switch widget name-fields keep resetting to blank. Annoying. The app looks significantly dated. Material design would be nice, as well as a color adjustment widget. Also being able to change the order of how the bulbs turn on and off would be nice.

Either the app or the light bulb it self is having problems. I have 2 light bulbs in my room and if I am very lucky, the app will pick up both lightbulb but a majority of the time the app only finds one bulb to control.

Won't connect to my light bulb no matter how many times I restart the app, power cycle the bulb, reinstall the app, or reboot my phone. Worked perfectly back when I had an iPhone, but has never worked on any android device I've used.

Very slow to respond, have to reopen the app and reconnect the light many times when disconnecting and reconnecting from Bluetooth, say from when coming back from work. Need to slowly press "On" "Off" then "On" again sometimes for it to respond. Wake/sunrise function works well.

I have these bulbs in my yoga studio and really need the app on my computer so all employees are able to access it! I cant seem to find it when I look on my computer thiugh, please add or help!

Love the app so far. Haven't noticed and glitches using my LG V20. I mainly purchased the bulbs for the sunrise program and it worked strangely well lol. I woke up at 5:42 (sunrise set to start at 5:30 and be 100% at 5:45) and it felt really weird to already be used to the bright lights. In my original review, I said that I wished the sunrise mode started at a true 0% brightness and worked its way up to 100% instead of this 25-100% gradural progression it seems to start and end at. After actually using it as a sunrise alarm, I didn't actually notice until I woke up to them at almost full brightness. I am looking forward to future updates and plan on buying more if these hold up well! (An adjustable candle flickering mode would be awesome!) Short update: Bought a third bulb. I like how I can turn the bulbs on/off in a single press with the widget. (assuming bluetooth and location is on). A bit of a delay using this method before the first bulb responds (3-6 seconds) but instant responses thereafter.

Seems the lightbulb can't handle more than one connected phone at a time. I need to redownload the app every time I want to regain access on my other device.

R70%
by R####:

no idea why everyone else is having issues. mine works just fine. also, they need photo permissions because you can submit photos from your gallery to match your lightbulb with its setting. so like if you send a picture of a campfire the lightbulb will change to orange. just a heads up ????

Privacy concerns Too many permissions needed

R70%
by R####:

Ridiculous permission requirements to use the app. No reasonable purpose for location services to connect to bulb. DO NOT BUY

R70%

It fails to see the bulb about 90% of the time.

Bought the lights for the alarm feature....they don't turn on with the app alarm.

R70%

App works great, bulb still works even if it disconnects

N70%

Why does this app need all these permissions?

R70%
by R####:

Permissions are questionable. App also looks super dated. Would be nice to have a widget to change color presets too.

App is very difficult to handle needs an update have to relearn every time i want to use it i wish i would work with the wife insted

I love this app. Every application out there wants permission to sew you up into some human centipede if you break your contract. But leave the conspiracy nonsense aside and being able to have control over you're lighting at this price and ease is amazing.

R70%
by R####:

Nice when it works, but stops working way too often. Turn on my light and the light stops responding so I can't turn it off. Editing just to make sure you know it still barely works...

R70%
by R####:

They really need to change the permissions. App wont work without precise loxation tracking..Even if you are rooted and mess w settings. Nothing

R70%
by R####:

Works reasonably well. Feature request: For the widget, which currently allows turning a light on or off, could you add an ability to switch modes? I'd love a way to switch to a different color or mode via a widget, especially if it was a single tap -- even if I have to wait a few seconds for it to take effect (like the on/off widget does now). Overall: Works; a little slow to connect to the bulb, but that is probably a symptom of bluetooth connection setup and teardown. Good: Controls the light reliably. UI is fun to play with, functional, relatively self-explanatory. Simple things are easy, complex things are possible. Bad: Scheduled changes aren't reliable. Sometimes they work and sometimes they don't. Maybe if it did a periodic wakeup to see if a recent scheduled change actually triggered?

I'm changing my rating from a 1 to a 4. I gave it a 1 because of the permission requirements, but after reaching out to the developers they've put my concerns at rest. The app controls the bulbs flawlessly! There's no learning curve at all. I do wish there were more preset options, and to put the lights on a timer and maybe a more updated UI; it looks so boring for such a great product. If you're worried about them collecting your information, DON'T. Take off the tinfoil hats and give it a try.

Worked great for a year but now the Bluetooth does not connect and I have to keep resetting everything because the phone and light can't connect.

Tell ya what, you give me your ceo and all flux board members personal emails, phone numbers, and home addresses, as well as access to THEIR locations at all times, and then I may be a little more comfortable giving you mine...

Until the devs come out and explain why a Bluetooth controller for a lightbulb needs full network access, my location at all times, and other very sketchy permissions no one should use this app. Change your permissions

It's a lightbulb, guys. Your app should require zero permissions.

Works with my Blackberry Passport and my Galaxy S7.

Z70%

A bluetooth bulb app does not need access to my files/photos and location. The worst part is that if you deny access the app will not work. I purchased a few different types of these bulbs and so far the Lucero one from Amazon is the only app that will allow me to deny these requests and still work.

D70%
by D####:

This app and bulb were great until recently. This app connects to the bulb via BLUETOOTH and does NOT need access to my location. That is absurd. Not only that, but they try to disguise this fact by claiming that they need your location to locate the nearby bulbs, which is not true and never has been. And to make matters worse the app force closes if you refuse to turn it on. EVERYONE I FOUND AN ALTERNATE APP THAT DOESNT NEED PERMISSIONS. It's called SMART LIGHT

D70%
by D####:

No one should have to give up their location and access to their device's files in order to use a light bulb. Absolutely ridiculous.

D70%
by D####:

Bulb is great but please fix the app to require minimal privacy intrusion before the rating drops down to one star. This will really hurt your business.
