When it comes to your wedding day, shoes can make a huge difference to both your outfit and your mood. They can either complete your outfit, be comfortable to wear and look amazing or they can wreak havoc causing blisters and distress!

Flats in the form of ballet pumps, flip flops and sandals are a great idea in terms of comfort. Flat sandals are an excellent choice for an outdoor or beach wedding. You don't have to worry about your heels digging in the ground.

Perhaps the most popular heel height for wedding shoes is something mid height like a pair of kitten heels. They offer a little more height and comfort and because they are between 2 to 3 inches, they should offer great stability.

Again, you should probably go for a style that you are used to wearing. Bridal shoes come lots of different styles including sling backs, court shoes, open toe, closed toe, sandals and many more. Make sure you try on the style of shoe before you buy. It's not uncommon for women to have problems open toe shoes rubbing on their toes - something you really don't want on your wedding day!

Embellishments

Wedding shoes come with all sorts of embellishments. Crystals, bows and pearls are often used to add a bit of glamour. These adornments can either be a subtle finish to the shoe, like a buckle with diamante surround or they can be the main feature of them - a high heeled shoe completely covered in glistening Swarovski crystals.

Colour

Years ago brides would have only considered wearing traditional ivory or white wedding shoes. Nowadays some brides are choosing brighter colours to contrast their wedding dress. Wedding shoes are now available in all colours of the rainbow.
