My Battery Drain Analyser for Android
When tracking my battery usage, I was always missing something...
That information was the Battery drain in percent per hour.
I just made this app for my personal use and it's now time to share it.
This app will always sleep and wake up every time your battery drop one percent to save the current battery state and the time. On the next battery drop, I will compute the battery drain.
I plan to work on the User interface and improve it during next weeks/month, feel free to contact me if you have suggestion/ideas.
Keep in mind that this app has to stay simple and minimalist.
This app is a great start at listing your battery's Δ%/t. But it won't let you decide which values are green, which are yellow, which are red, etc. My Galaxy S3 never goes under 1%/hr, so I never get a single listing that is green. I would also like to see the data in graph form, instead of list form. A graph of Δ%/t over time would be nice.
When I turn certain apps on and off I get a pretty good idea over a few hours what apps are draining more battery use. Great idea. Looking forward to future improvements but it's good to go, for now :)
Awesome! Exactly what I wanted. This app lets me know how much my battery is draining and from that data I can figure out which apps are battery suckers. Thank You for this app and a request to make a widget for this app such that it provides real time monitoring.
If i can't find the cause then what is the use of this app. I can read the battery percent my self and i don't need an app to tell me it is getting weaker. What a waste of time
Does exactly what it says with low impact. Best app to tell if something is causing your battery to drain. It's not an app you would want to have running necessarily all the time though, so it would be usefull to have a button to stop or exit the app when not in use. It is always running!
This app does exactly what it claims to do, recording battery drain per hour. I never knew I needed to see that until I downloaded this, and now it's a key feature.
It is worthless. I have my own indicator on the phone, so what the point? I thought it will show me, which app is draining the most? But is not.
It will intermittently report that it has ''stopped working'' on my LG G4 with Lollipop. Other than that, a wonderful app. Hope dev can fix this bug.
I've just rewritten my review after rereading a dozen or so others. This much is very clear: with this superb app, either you "get it" or you don't; 5 star/1 star, few in between. Since 80% appear to be 5-star my best advice is, if at first you don't get it, go back and read some of the excellent reviews that explain how the app is useful to them. Trust me, you'll be amazed at what a deceptively powerful tool this is to manage your device's power usage. (Best to read the brief directions first.)
Sometimes freezes - no fc but battery % is stalled
I was using Samsung s3 and info was correct but now at Note 3, battery usage info is not correct. Please fix it.
Had a small learning curve but together with Greenify it helped to solve my battery drain
Installed yesterday, started deleating apps that I wasn't using and viola, battery charges faster and decays slower. Good on ya.
Could you add normal usage based on everyone data? It could be helpful whether we consume too much energy or just normal at that, thanks
After BatteryDrain collected several hundred sample points, it concluded a Final Result of 4.37%/h, which means I will use 43.7% of juice in ten hours according to my phone usage pattern. I've just checked my current battery level and it is 55% left from 100% at 9:00am to now (7:00pm)!!! If you also find this app useful you will know what I'm talking about.
This app should keep track of the battery drain when the screen is on, separately from when the screen is off..
App stops running in background after a while and needs to be started again. Also, even if app is running, the display doesn't update as battery level decreases. User needs to stop app and start it again to refresh display.
Was looking everywhere for a basic app that did just this to monitor battery drain and provide drain per hour in detailed
It's a great way to tell if a 'charge booster' is doing what it claims. It's a keeper.
I wanted an app to see my battery report, and came across this awesome app which shows accurately the battery drain time and percentage.
It will tell you what is the % of battery drainage per hour based on the statistics collected on every 1% drop of battery capacity. What is draining the battery and by how much remains unknown. Lots of room for improvement. Most of the people will download based on the Name of product. So the developer should name the product as *Battery drainage per hour only and nothing more* would have been appropriate.
The app is not refreshing itself at regular intervals. Is your app not compatible with Lollipop 5.0?
I am sick and tired of all these "Battery apps" that just show funky graphs and the most obvious bs. Why want a battery app that tells me every time I play a game that it detected a battery draining app? Duh! I noticed regardless of used apps that the battery life kept getting shorter and shorter for "no" reason. No app is causing the drain, it is the battery getting old. With this app I can finally make my own statistics of how long the battery will last, before I have to buy a new tablet. Thank you!
First I thought it looked ugly and downloaded the other app which included this feature but it wasnt on its homescreen so I gave this a shot. I'm glad I did because turns out the ui is not even ugly and it shows exactly what I was looking for, in an instant! It looks great on my galaxy tab S.
I like it. For the developer. You know there are always people who make the wrong assumption based on the app name and then complain about it, having not read the description. I always read descriptions first. It may be an idea in order to avoid downloaders who don't bother reading to adjust the app name to something like battery drain counter rather than analyser and will avoid unwarranted bad comments. Just a suggestion.... And by the way it is a very useful app. Well done to you.
and I find it very important in finding out if my Android device is becoming power hungry. From its detailed chart, I can deduce what has recently changed or what app has been recently installed that has caused it's condition
I like ur app description though
Let's face facts... some people are just clueless and will never "get it", yet acting in a condescending way towards these people (in essence, calling them "stupid" and "dumb") because they don't "get it" comes off as sounding arrogant and elitist. I was originally going to try this app yet, after reading all the "holier than thou" snarky reviews, I won't be using it. One of the most important rules in business is "don't alienate prospective customers".
I wouldn't mind seeing how many Minutes & Seconds it take to go from one percentage point to the next. Thank For Sharing Your App.
This app does exactly what is said. It show the percentage of the battery per hour.
Im testing different combinations of ROMs, kernels and background apps. This app shows me how long it takes for the battery to drop 1%. And it stores the last 100 drops. I'm specially interested in the minimum battery usage while phone is idle. This app show you e.g. 0.5% per hour. Great. Keep up the good work.
I read your Warning first then decided to download the app. After all, I gave your app 5 stars. Good app. Keep going, buddy
Thanks! This app helped me put a number to my battery usage so I could quantify chances while trying to improve my battery usage. Some refresh issues. Had to close and reopen sometimes for updated info. Otherwise just what I was looking for.
I tried this app because it seemed to get good reviews. It absolutely gives no details on what is draining your battery the most. Waste of time.
This app does exactly what it says, and it does it well while presenting the information you need in an easy to understand and concise manner. So, for sure.. 5-Stars!
Hi Wazabe, just wanted to say thanks for this app. this is one of the apps that i install when I flash a new ROM to measure the battery life, esp. during idle times. But, it looks like it's not working in 4.4.x Roms (tried different cm11, Aospa roms). Even after few hours and battery drain, the app is not tracking like it used to. Maybe some compatibility issues with the new API?
It makes monitoring battery consumption a very trivial task. Easy to use and intuitive.
Works well and does what it says. Widget is simple and shows clearly your battery % per hr, you end up playing games to see what you can get :-)
I use it on all roms for battery testing purpose

Hello my friend Can I offer a suggestion for your app? Every time you log the % and time of battery charge, you could show a list of running apps at that moment, or maybe only what apps started or stopped since the previous log. That would allow people to see correlations between increased battery drain and running apps. Good luck!
