Calligraphy is etymologically derived from English, calligraphy derived from two Greek syllables, namely kallos: beauty (beautiful) and graphein: to write (writing) which means: beautiful writing. In Arabic, commonly called khat which means line or stroke pen that form handwriting. And it is called fann al-khath in the sense that art refines writing or mends graffiti.
Khat or calligraphy is a science that introduces the forms of single letters, their locations, and ways of arranging them into a composed writing. Or anything written on the lines, how to write it and decide which one does not need to be written; Change the spelling that needs to be changed and determine how to change it.
Arabic calligraphy is a beautiful writing that originated and developed in the Arab region. In English referred to as Arabic calligraphy and in Arabic it is called al-khat al-Arabi. There are also a number of other terms such as Islamic calligraphy, fann al-khat al-Arabi or Qur'anic calligraphy which refers to the same thing
