The Form Book Predicts

This is the Prediction App that uses computer algorithms and machine learning techniques to predict the football scores from the premier league to the conference. The app uses past fixtures for every team and puts that data head to head to predict a score line.

When predicting each fixture the app first gets the league position of both teams.

The app then finds the last six home games the home team has played. Whilst also finding the last six away games the away team has played.

Next, using the league position the app finds the last six home games the home team has played, which were against teams in the same half of the league as the away team. (The league position is that of last season’s finish position if the date is before 20th of September).

This step is repeated for the away team. Finding the last six away games they played against teams in the same half of the league as the home team.

Next the app then uses all the data from the current season and last season to find fixtures the home team has played at home against teams within two positions of the away team. This is repeated for the away team and their away fixtures.

Then the app looks at the form of each team and selects the last six games both home and away for each team.
Now the app has all the data it needs it looks at each fixture and analyses them. After which the app makes a prediction based purely on the relevant past fixtures.

The predictions made are in no way what is actually going to happen. But the predictions are what is most likely to happen.

The app is still in development and hopefully in the future I will be able to expand on what data is available for the app to use.
