About Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Technique
Brazilian Jiu-jitsu (English: Brazillian jiu-jitsu (BJJ)) is a martial art focusing on the first floor battles popularized in Brazil. This self-defense is a development of the martial arts of Kodokan Judo, pioneered by Mitsuyo Maeda with the Gracie Family. Furthermore, the Gracie family has succeeded in popularizing the martial arts in an international stage. One of the most successful events that popularized this martial art was the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) fighting event, which Royce Gracie won several times.
Techniques studied at BJJ focus more on floor battles, kickbacks, locks, and strikes. The philosophy held by these martial arts practitioners is how smaller, weaker, and slower opponents can face bigger and stronger opponents.
As a sport, Jiu Jitsu Brazil has tournaments that are held in various levels. As the art of fighting, Jiu Jitsu Brazil is much studied as an attempt to defend himself from criminal acts. In addition, this martial art was widely adopted by mixed martial arts practitioners (Mixed Martial Arts) as well as the military.
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu's fighting techniques and styles focused on bottom battles, kickbacks, strikes, joint locks, and advantageous positioning. In principle, from each position can be launched various variations of movement. The purpose of the movement in general is to get a more advantageous position or to solve the opponent by locking. Techniques at Brazilian Jiu Jitsu can be trained with or without wearing Gi.
