SwannView for Android
I am not happy with Swann's customer service, but this app has significantly improved and functions well now. It is not the most user friendly setup but it is working well now.
Could access cameras just fine on Android phone, but now it keeps telling me connect to server fail. Any suggestions for fix? Smartphone access was key in purchase decision.
Out of the numerous Swann apps, I found only two that will play my live feed; SwannView and SwannView Pro HD. Now only SwannView works (at an extremely terrible resolution and slow frame rate).
I can see video on my PC but not on tablet why, it used to work now empty screen after connection
Never recorded not 1 video, or notified me of people breaking in my car, dont waste your time or money.... they dont even care to fix their cheaply made apps
I was able to view some of the cameras on my Swann DVR 2550 until I updated the firmware in the DVR and now this app doesn't work at all.
Way too buggy. They need to sort this out and quick. I downloaded ip cam viewer and have had no problems...why cant swann do the same?
Does not work with Swann DVR 4 channel. No usable error messages. Poor programming. Spoke to Swann support. Not able to make it work.

This app does exactly what I need it to do. All I wanted was to be able to view my home video cams on my Nexus 7 and it fulfills that need. It is not fancy and comes with no real setup instructions but is simple enough to work through. The key for me to get this to work was to use my Mobile port. All the rest of the setup was the same as through the web.
For some reason this app now works perfectly. I'm able to see all my cameras and control my three dumb cameras everything that's described and mentioned that works perfectly. Not sure what I did to get the app to finally work but it seems to be working on both my LAN and WAN Networks.
Giving it 1 star because it only shows what's currently playing and will not allow to review past recordings. Unless you are constantly looking at it you can't see what occurred prior or what triggered an alarm. It also drains the phone battery very fast
I spent a couple of hours trying to get this app to work with a Swann DVR400-1200 unit. Would connect but no pictures visible. Emailed the support address mentioned in the help window but never got a response. I saw mention of the IP Cam Viewer application in one of the other reviews and tried that instead - was up and working in less than five minutes. Would much preferred to have stuck with manufacturers app but just couldn't get it to work.
Used to work fine. Not now. Keeps losing connection settings, unlike what is promised on playstore. Why release an update that makes it worse? Glad I'm not a shareholder if that's how swann runs it's business. I've just tried IP camera app and it works, so have deleted the swann app.
After having a iPhone and a windows phone which was easy to set up on a remote app. Found the app for galaxy s6 more frustrating. If people are struggling just email swann but it might take them a few days to get back to you . Or call them they know there stuff .
I've set up so many of their 8 camera systems its second nature to me. If your having issues with this app or your system maybe you should call someone to help
Serves its purpose. The appearance is nice as well. If your having troubles connecting make sure the DVR is setup to accept 3g connections and that the right ports on your router are open. I found them in my dvr's manual.
I have tryed everything 2 get this app 2 show my cctv it says its successfully installed but then says no resonse. All its done is stress me out! Had it on previous fones so whatsgoing swanview? It is the right app that supports my dvr ip address etc is all correct. Get a grip + get this sorted as all reviews are saying the same!...
When trying to connect to my SwannDVR I receive the error message "unable to connect to network". It no longer connects on 3G/4G. All the settings seem to be correct and I can see the specified ports so I know they are open. It used to work but doesn't anymore.
App sometimes makes your unit freeze when you click to fast from cam to cam. Maybe a connection bug. You then have to hard reset your unit. Otherwise handy, hopefully they will fix this.
Not much else to say. I wasted hours of my life and it just plain won't work. It says its connected to server and playing video but nothing displays
AT&T Uverse router upgraded. Prior to swap I used my public IP in the configuration for viewing cameras both on internal network and over the internet. Now I have to use SwannView Link for Internet view. Swann tech support is pretty useless and suggestef using 2 apps to resolve. I switched to Robert Chou's IP Camera app, and this app solved the problem. My advice to Swann; you guys need to be on top of the diff technologies otherwise when the time comes, I'll find a company that does!
Pricey and nicely packaged with the promise of 1,2,3, hook up, I was able to see images on monitor but over an hour of fiddling still no success with seeing on phone app. For the price I shouldn't be toying around. I returned and s week later tried competitor Qsee on.a whim. Equally expensive, not as attractively packaged it actually did show on my phone as promised 2 minutes after downloading the app.
I use tech support a lot for this system and app. Found out 3/4 of the trouble I was having was caused by my ISP. Swann set me up with a DNS server. Now remote viewing on web works great. I have found tech support to be very patient and willing to take time to go step by step with me. I will say that the cameras that came with 4 channel system are not great. I have upgraded the cameras from another company, needed better night vision.
Got a Swann DVR with two cameras for a good deal. It's nice to be able to check on the house from anywhere and would be handy for anyone that will be away from home for long periods. However, we replaced the cameras with better ones because the package cameras were terrible.
Expensive cameras that went out of order one after the other and a weak app that does not work. Now looking for a more serious company that can take real care of my security. Thanks for nothing.
I just reconfigured it from scratch on a new phone. Make sure you use port 9000, not 85 in the Android app.
All your related apps are only good under local wifi, not working for remote viewer with 3G/4G mobile of Galaxy S6 edge+.

My phone cant even install this thing. Cameras are great on the tv, but we got these so we could see what was going on when not home. Make this work and 5 stars all the way.
Not working on asus transformer prime. Connection okay, but no picture: 0(
This app gets your Swann system available for Android devices. The caveat here is ensuring your settings are for Mobile and you enter your Mobile port number in the Port field (defaulted from your DVR). Also, be mindful of whether or not you are on your local network (private IP address) vs a non-local network ( public IP address). So enter either your public or private IP address in the Server field. There is also no need to append your Web port number to the IP address as you will enter the Mobile port number. Ensure you have a user name (same as on the DVR) and you should be good to go.
Constantly get connection errors. Started off good mow it's horrible.
The latest update has broken this app. It did work until I updated and now it only works with 1 camera not all 4 like it used to with the previous updates. PLEASE FIX!
Doesn't connect with Port 18004, connects with Port 9000 but no pictures. Robert Chou's IP Cam Viewer works fine, as usual...
This is a fantastic app. Works perfectly with my Swann DVR91425 system and I found it easy to set up. Works well on wifi and on data stream from my Nexus 4 mobile on EE standard network. Also found the support from Swann to be first rate. Cannot understand the bad comments about it, that's not my experience.
Spent lots of time looking at different viewers for my night owl dvr and this one the only one on android that could do it so well. Nice job. Now just need to be able to remotely record video.
Well done. Setup wasn't bad. Functions great and has excellent features!
Used to work well on Gingerbread, but now does not work on Ice Cream Sandwich (on HTC Vivid, ICS 4.0.3)

Update to my previous review: After much digging I discovered my connection issues were down to my ISP (O2 Ireland). They said "O2 blocks all device to device communication on consumer APNs (eg open.internet etc)." Since both my home and mobile broadband are by O2, the app will never work for me. Friends on other mobile networks had no problems viewing the stream on their smartphones with Swannview when I gave them the settings. Thanks also to the tech support guys in Maplins for their help on this one.
