I bought the Swann Platinum Series 1080p 8 camera surveillance system. The SwannView NVR app does not work well at all on my Android Samsung S4 cellphone. The video pops up for a split second and then goes black. Save yourself a lot of time and try one of the other apps out there - e.g. iVMS-4500 or Lorex netHD. Swann Tech Support can help you with the IP settings. It's pretty simple to set that part up with their 24 hour assistance. With the iVMS and Lorex apps, you can choose to view remotely or over a wifi. Keep in mind though that you'll have to use a different IP address for the wifi than for the remote. Once you've input those few settings, you don't have to mess with them again.

If you have WiFi this will work great; however once you are on 3g or lte this App is useless. Please fix it!!! My other Qsee HD system work flawlessly Over 3g. If this is not fixed, I will be forced to return the system as mobile viewing is a must for me

I can connect to NVR system. When I try viewing cameras, they flash up for a split second and go black. I am connected over wifi on the same network as the NVR and it will nopt work :( They need Android app updates and software updates for the NVR

I have a little lag in getting a picture with 4g at times but is works fine. It would be great if I could set a default 4 cameras to see when opening live view.

I have a Swann IP camera recording system. But this app is pretty poor. UI is just badly designed. I agree with Tim, just change the RTSP port to something else instead of default 554. Then it has no issues working on LTE for me on ATT. Also I dont use this app anymore. I use the HikVision iVMS-4500 app. Dont worry it will work just fine with your Swann, even though it's HikVision branded. Their UI is much better, easier to use and remembers your last screen setup.

I have ptz cameras I can use this app to work the ptz. I can see everything at home when I'm not there

N70%

Due to carrier level port blocking.... (sprint and att) it doesn't work on 3g 4g unless you change your nvr rtsp port to something other than 554. Once that's fixed the app works. However it could be a lot better

I connect fine via wifi, but connect through 3g does not work. I can connect to the cameras but I get no live feed. The cameras show up as gray at first then go to black. Please fix it!

N70%
by N####:

Crashes some days kinda works other days.....no 30fps option only up to 25fps my live feed is jumpy falls behind real time on wi-fi. 16xxx bitrate does not work only up to 81xx bitrate works. Try to save camera configuration never works so every new app open has to be set up. Live feed over 3G/4G does not work at all. Level one and two tech support has been useless

Can't get pass login screen , please fix. I think it is only allowing the first two letters of the user name and password.

Could not get it to work. Connected to NVR (nvr8-7200) but when I tried to view a camera it blinked then showed a black box. Working perfectly with Lorex netHD viewer instead -- connects to the Swann NVR and sees all of my cameras. I also changed the RTSP port to avoid carrier issues (changed it to 1554). If this doesnt work for you, use Lorex netHD with your Swann device!

When the app starts it asks you for a username and password but will not show you the keyboard. The result is I can't use the app. Samsung Galaxy s4.
