About Telescope Simulator

See what any planet will look like through ANY telescope!

Need help picking your first telescope? Not sure what it's capable of? Why not try before you buy?!

After a series of precise mathmatical calculations, Telescope Simulator will show exactly what any planet will look like through ANY telescope!!

You can even simulate different barlow lenses or eyepieces on your currect telescope to see what it's capable of!

Select from over 50 popular telescopes from Orion, Celestron and Meade to see what they are capable of!

If your telescope is not on the list, simply tap the 'Custom' button and enter its aperture and focal length and the Telescope Simulator will do the rest!

Telescope Simulator will also simulate all the negative effects of real telescopes so you know exactly what you are buying!

Just like with a real telescope, if you magnify a scope beyond its capabilities your image will get blurry and dim.

For added effect, there is an optional 'Seeing' toggle button that factors in bad atmospheric conditions.

You can even select the Hubble as your telescope just to compare!

I've bought this app but as I open it suddenly close. I've sent an email to developers days ago but they have not responded. I want my money back.

Great app, I'm assuming all other images are just as exact . I just saw Saturn and its ring, along with Jupitor and 5 moons on a celestron first scope with nu. 2 Barlow lens and 4mm eyepiece, all with in an hour .I actually believe my images were even 20 percent better then their images, Great app Great app

Very useful comparisons. It cannot show how celestial objects would look as if your eye was pressed to the lens, but it does show the relative size and quality within the viewfinder. That enables you to make decisions safely.

Good app to see what things will look like through a telescope. Great to aid in the decision making process of which scope to buy too. Wish I knew about this before I bought my daughter's scope.

As an observational amateur astronomer for 50 years this app needs some work if it is to accurately depict the differences among telescopes. The main function of a telescope is to amplify light--not to magnify. What this app fails to do is to depict how much brighter objects will be larger telescope-- especially extended deep sky objects. A telescope having an objective mirror lens twice the size of another make the object appear for times brighter. Nevertheless, this is a great concept needing refinement

This app provides a good service for those wondering what other scopes (including Hubble & Webb) but is not affiliated with an astronomy club or attends star parties. Even though it allows for inputting various specs it would get a 5 Star rating if it was updated. Some of the scopes listed are no longer available. Good app as is.

Great concept, but I expected more from this app. Could also add more objects. I must be honest the scaling could do with some improvement. I have a Celestron C11 XLT, and the planets for example Jupiter and Saturn are way too small for that telescopes specs.

If you are in the process of buying a telescope this app will give you an idea of what to expect you will see.

Perfect for comparing the many different telescopes out there. Dropped a star (no pun) because the app kept freezing on my Galaxy 4. Also would be nice for more varieties of scopes like refractors.

It gives a good idea what you will be able to see with the type of scope you plan to buy. Worth the bit of money it costs!

I like this app would like to see more Messier objects and the Sun good job I'm very impressed worth the download and the money. Add them and it would be 5 stars for sure but for now its just a 4

...to learn about relationship between eyepieces and magnification and to set expectations about scope capabilities. UI could be better. Should default to number pad for value entry. Should provide up down buttons to change values for Barlow and eyepiece for an interactive experience.

Saves a lot of efforts when buying a telescope. Great idea. More objects would be nice. Also comparison between scopes or settings. Also a better interface for adding custom settings of a telescopes+saving them.

Good idea but there are different resolutions of screens so I am not sure what is shown on this app is accurate to show real view simulations.

Wife just got me a telescope This has to be the most straight forward way for a novice like myself ;to better understand how to invest a little (barlow lens)To get the most from my 130 eq. Well worth the small investment. Thanks to the dev.team for a usefull app.
