About Mcalc Lite

**THIS APP IS CURRENTLY IN BETA, please bear in mind that some bugs are to be expected, we have already received reports of sudden crashes of this update on some devices, if that is your case, wait a couple of hours until it updates automatically before posting your reviews since it seems to be a google issue, not an Mcalc issue.**

What is Mcalc?

Mcalc is a new menstruation calculator app. It tracks your period and keeps you updated on your current status and any upcoming important events of your menstrual cycle.

How does it work?

Simple! Just provide the app with some basic information about you and your cycle, and Mcalc will calculate the rest, taking your personal context into consideration. Afterwards you can set alarms and even log relevant events.

What features does it have?

̶-Neutrality Guaranteed: We understand that sex and gender identity are not the same, and because of this we designed our app so it can be used by almost everyone. Mcalc is 100% gender neutral and it won't assume anything of you while using it.

̶-Adaptation: We all have different needs, and Mcalc can suit them accordingly. It will only display the information relevant to your purposes and won't nag you with irrelevant data. Using Mcalc on "sex mode" will help you reduce your risk of getting pregnant when having sex for fun, while setting it on "baby mode" will help you increase your chances of getting pregnant when planning for it.

-Information: Discover new things about menstrual cycles by using Mcalc's informative pages.

Features that will be added in the Pro version:

̶-Tracking: Mcalc lets you keep a log of your activity for later reference. It's as simple as tapping a date in our calendar and ticking the events that happened that day to save them for further reference.

̶-Notifications: Mcalc will keep you updated on the important dates of your menstrual cycle. It has a built-in alarm system that will allow you to set notifications for events you care about.

by Q####:

It successfully predicts my period 98% of the time, but glitches out when I try to change the mode. This app has great potential and I can't wait for the pro version. I love the fact that it's androgynous and not all pink and girly!

I'm sure this app would be great, but it won't let me scroll down whatsoever. I'm not able to finish putting info in to get my results. :c

O70%

Can't give it any more than 3 stars because it's too hard to use

My concern is that i cannot set a longer average cycle. My avg is larger than your settings allow for which is sad. :(

I suggest Clue as an alternative, although the app I personally use is LoveCycles (because Clue lacks a widget and that's a deal breaker for me).

As someone who is genderfluid and asexual I really love the idea of a neutral calculator and tracker for the monthly week of ovary torture. Currently, however, all its good for is a guess. Information and units aren't saveable and the calendar doesn't allow for tracking dates accurately nor for the alarms. I do really hope to see everything come together and improve in the future versions cause I are the ideas behind it all

its quite a clear design and nothing to hard to figure out and of course the gender neutrality of the app is wonderful. however i can't seem to enter in my data fully unfortunately. i assume there is some kind of enter button underneath the cycle length slider but i cant scroll down to even check,it's a fair bit glitchy. i also canr put in the year of my last cycle which is a bit! however i think that may be a problem with my phone, either way im still glad i installed this app,now if only i can use it!!!

I've had this for <30 minutes and already want to throw my phone out the window. The year and month show up with a ridiculous amount of N's and O's that takes me 5 minutes to delete before I can enter a date, the height slider doesn't adjust to inches and by the time I've got my info in there, the calculate button disappears and it. Is. Frustrating. I figured the first time was a fluke, but it's done it twice more and I'm in a fit. I really loved the idea of this, but as it is, it's completely unusable!

I like where this seems to be headed and I'm excited for the pro version! I just have one concern that I haven't seen mentioned yet. I get that knowing someone's height and weight is important for accuracy, but the slider bars make it seem like they're showing your weight in comparison to other people's. This can be really triggering to people with eating disorders or other body image issues. I know it seems like a small concern, but it would help a lot if you could just have number input w/o the sliders.

B70%
by B####:

I love the idea of a more gender neutral period tracking app, but why does it need to know my age, height, and weight? To the best of my knowledge, none of those are needed for calculating how many days it will be till I bleed again. 4 stars off for unnecessary information gathering.

I had to resort to my pre-installed calendar app just to avoid all the flowery imagery and soft pink palettes other period trackers have. Setting up, though, I felt it wasn't quite clear if I should put in the first or last day of my last period.

So I have not really even started to use this app because its impossible to tell what units of measure you guys are using. It just says weight and then a number. Is it kilo, is it lb, how would anyone know?

M70%
by M####:

It doesn't save settings or even period dates.

M70%

But I can't because there's no option to input birth control info, making this app useless to me.

The fact that I have to re-enter the start date every time is pretty infuriating. Fix it and get s better rating.

The idea of a neutral menstrual calendar is great, but it needs a lot of work on settings and retention.

I love the idea of this app - I'm so sick of pink flowery period imagery and apps assuming that I want to track my fertility. However, I'm disappointed with the actual product. At the moment it's just not unusable. The layout glitches when I scroll and I can't input the year on the date of my last period. For some reason the box keeps automatically and continuously filling up with "N"s, "0"s and "a"s? Also, the ability to record the dates you've been menstruating shouldn't be exclusive to a pro version - otherwise it's not really a period calculator, just a rough estimate. I'm looking forward to using it when it's out of beta mode though.

As other commentators have mentioned, data has to be reentered every time, doesn't save unit preferences, and the start date entry boxes are unlabeled and confusing. Very frustrating to attempt to use, can't scroll down all the way to finish entering info. I love this app's neutrality and think it's coming from a good place, just hope to see it rendered usable in later versions. The beta kinda sucks...

Hello! So first, that little arrow on the first welcoming screen is very vague. I thought you were supposed to press it but i figured out i needed to swipe. Also, I'm not sure if the height or weight is in cm/kg or in/lbs. Oh i found it, please add units all the time, that would clear up confusion with american audiences because we are odd :3. Nice job with this isn't a substitute for birth control thing. I love what you're doing!

But less useful in practice. The pros are that this app is fairly straightforward; no superfluous pink or flowery images. Tells you the projected date of your next period, when you're ovulating, and "safe days". Unfortunately, the app can be confusing to use and I'm not sure why there's a height/weight slider. Furthermore, the calendar/alert function seems to only be available in an upcoming pro version? This makes the calculation more of a guess.

Now that I can open it, I've been able to calculate when my next cycle will start. The "next" button doesn't work when moving from one text box to the next (like from "weight" to "height" or when entering the date). It would also be great for the text boxes for the date specified which box is for the day, month, and year (MM, DD, YYYY).

Y70%

Keeps resetting the last period, height/weight and goes back to kg versus lb and cm versus in. Kind of annoying to have to go back and write the stuff again.

This app is great! Tumblr led me to check it out, glad I found this little gem. I've been using journal apps for the last 3ish years to keep track of my cycle, really something I should have learned to do long ago. I can enter in the most important dates, and get a general outlook of the days to watch for the next month. Hope for updates and the best for this App. :)

So excited this app exists! Super buggy but totally expected given it's in beta. Looking forward to using more often once it's fixed up a bit.

N70%

I know it's going to be buggy as it's in beta, but the program seems to have issues with saving any data that's been entered. Hope this helps

U70%

Calculations run through fine but don't save when the app is exited, prompting me to input height/weight/age/cycle info each time. Selected calendar resets as well.

U70%

Very interested in the potential, but currently only moderately useful. Really interested in the tracking which will happen with the "pro" version.

The only thing I noticed as far as bugs is that it doesn't save my inputted data... Other then that I'm excited for this app
