SL Director's Viewfinder for Android
I've tried to use this app with several camera systems, most recently Red Epic with my Samsung s6 and frame lines aren't even close.
P.S. If, for some reason, you're having issues, uninstall then reinstall.
Any updates
Excellent tool serves many uses. Never location scout or go to set without it.
Problem fixed, video feed is working again - Droid
Crashes every time I open it. Useless.
Should be free
Good start! I cant wait for the ability to take pictures.
I would love to see more aspect ratios. 2.39:1 and 2.76:1 specifically.
Excellent tool, worth every penny, would like to see camera aspect ratios, fx ,dx,also the golden ratio, logarithmic spiral. Regards he
Good, could be better. Pixelation at focal lengths longer that 25mm (16:9,Sony 2/3") make the image un-decipherable making it useless at these settings. How about as an alternative to digitally zooming image into a pixelated mush placing a frame over an un-magnified image to represent the image size at long focal lengths?
The program functions fine as long as you don't try to zoom any of the lenses. Digital zoom=pixilated images. Overall OK.
Warning: Do *not* buy this, you will not be happy! I purchased this because I have already used the developer's Digislate before. However, you have no way to set *standard* lens sizes in this application. For example, if you are using a 11mm lens (such as Tokina), you cannot set it up. 8mm (Samyang/Bower), 11mm, 16mm (Canon), 21mm etc., are all standard sizes for any camera including Canon DSLR and Super 35. These are missing and you cannot add these. The developer did not respond to any of my emails! I sent four e-mails after I paid for this crapware, and developer has not responded to any! Too bad I couldn't try this out within 15 minutes! I would have definitely returned this crapware.
First, this is not a camera app. The fact that it even takes pics says something, as its main function is to guide in your framing. This is a pretty good app that does what it says, however: 1. There's no 'EXIT' button. Not even the escape key works. You have to hit HOME and then force-close the app. 2. It does not allow you to add your own lenses/specs - what if I'm shooting with a zoom at 67mm?
Very useful. Doesn't save pictures on my phone though - HTC Desire HD
Artemis viewfinder app is overpriced in my opinion. This app is a great alternative. Works great. I use it during pre-production.
Great app. Please add 2.35:1 crop marks for canon 5d mark ii.
Useless for me, the display is cropped and I cant see the settings. Using mytouch 4g and I cant tell what I'm doing.
Works good on my HTC desire hd
Still the best IMHO. Great little app.
I used this for my thesis film, it works very nice. Don't complain if it's your phone that sucks
It's great. Can you add 2.35 frame lines for when you are shooting 16x9 and cropping. An example would be the Alexa.
Crahes every time I try to take a picture. Worthless - I should have spent the extra $ on Artemis.
Force closes on start on HTC magic running gingerbread.
Great application. Framing is pretty dead on. My only complaint is for the red camera. There is no option for when you need to go to 2k for high speed
Great except really need to have ability to screenshot... once that is included 5 stars
Great app! Will make shoots very easy. The developer gave great customer service and made sure the app worked on my phone. (HTC desire HD)
The field of view is way off. Didn't check all cameras, but Alexa - way off.

Beats the old style heavy DVF's. More info and I don't have to write it down and a lot less exspensive. I've paid as much as $2k for DVF's in the past. This is the way to go.
