About Vmobile

Vmobile is a mobile video surveillance application provided by QNAP. By connecting Vmobile to Turbo NAS (with Surveillance Station enabled) and VioStor NVR, you can monitor IP cameras and play back recording videos as long as you have network access, and you can connect to and manage your video surveillance system anytime, anywhere.

Prerequisites:
- Turbo NAS (with Surveillance Station V5.1.0.2 or a later version) or VioStor NVR running V5.1.0 or above
- Surveillance Station need to be enabled on QNAP Turbo NAS

Major features of Vmobile
1.Support monitoring several servers/channels from thousands of network cameras of different brands by simply connecting to any available Turbo NAS (with Surveillance Station enabled) or VioStor NVR on the network.
2.Support advanced monitoring features, such as adjustable display mode, PTZ and preset position control, instant notification of alarm events, and snapshot.
3. Can playback recording data from different monitoring channels and by different alarm events.

Notifications don't seem to work in Vmobile though they work in Qfinder and I see my phone registered in Surveilence station and events in the log. A lot of usability issues but at the end of the day you can view the cam and see alerts

Same issue as Adrian Aron, Authentication with an account protected by 2-factor auth will result in an error and unable to connect. All the other app are working just fine with 2 factor authentication enabled. Please fix it!

Works great after last update. This corrected the problem with it forgetting the servers periodically.

Easy to setup for local viewing/playback however no documentation anywhere (even on qnap support pages/manuals) that detail how to setup remote viewing. Spent hours trying to get this working Eventually managed to get remote viewing working by entering myQNAPCloud, username & password and saving. The message advised of a connection error however choose to save the connection settings anyway. Edit the connection and under Advanced Settings you can no disable detect ports automatically and press the More button next to lan ports. Enter the lan port to 8080, internet port to 8080 and port used by host/ip to internet port only. Port forwarding is setup on my router for port 8080 to the ip address of the nas. Some routers/software on your pc may already be configured to use port 8080 for remote access so if you encounter difficulties try using another port. Once i get the software going I can view the cameras in decent quality. Havent tested the alerts as of yet though. Playback is terrible, SD is very poor quality. Useless. Switching to HD results in an error that resolution is not supported. This was the only feature i needed. Will try an alternative like EZVIZ

Worked fine until the last update. All Android devices won't connect. IOS devices still work fine. How long will still stay broken?

After firmware update I can't connect via my Android phone. All other apps work fine like manager. Shouldn't someone put out some info from qnap about this or fix i?. Fix ASAP!

Worst app I have ever had to deal with. For the cost of the nvr the software app should work all the time. I am sick and tired of re-entering the server ip over and over and over again. I am going to throw the 1200 dollar nvr out the window and bu5 one from a company that will allow me to check the cameras at my business frommy mobile devices. (The reason I purchased this P.O.S. in the first place. )This app always has had problems one after another. START OVER FIRE THE DEVELOPER!

Works only in LAN, while rest of q-apps can function in both LAN & WAN ( remotely). Shame!

Worked until latest update. Will only work on Lan. Others in office have iPhone and it works both ways for them. Something broke on the latest update.

Come on! 1.For some cameras there is no thumbnail (hikvision), quality and other settings are not saved. 2. Need to change stream quality for each cam each and every time. So frustrating. 3. To add new server you need to be on local network to make it work on later on mobile. 4. If cam name is changed on qnap there is no update on app. 5. Display mode should be cam individual set not to all - you know there are different types horizontal vertical 180 and 360 degrees. I happen to have all of these on one server. 6. Channel view, so limited! 6. Camera listing, the same, very limited. Lots of space wasted on screen. 7. Audio should be enabled/disabled per camera not globally. 8. Crashes every 10th time. 9. Please check tinycam pro app to see what great features you can implement. Hope this helps to improve this app. For now just because I have to use it I use it. Otherwise it is below 1 stars. Please improve. PS: not mentioning PC software (CPU usage 90%)

from advertisements i was expecting a lot. but i didnt expect that this app ux to be very unintuitive and not easily accessible, the best experience i got was in other software like tiny cam. also when opening one camera i get a weird portriat view that is way out of scale but that could be fixed from settings (i don't know why the correct aspect ratio is not the default setting) . also no option to playback old video of multiple cameras at once. i expect this app to be somewhat similar to the desktop version but it is way inferior in my opinion this app has one of the worst ui/ux comparing to other qnap android apps. if i have to raise my rating i expect the following : 1. option to have multi channel view as default when launching the app with auto login and in full screen mode 2. multi channel view full screen mode quality needs to be fixed, it is currently slow and a bit pixelated 3. enable 2 way audio like in tinycam 4. enable multi channel playback like in desktop version

Periodically forgets added server. So I need to add it again and again, very inconvenient. Not every time I start the app but already experienced this problem some 4 times during 2 days of usage. Please fix!

Will forget settings routinely. Requires 10 minutes of setup at least every 3 to 5 times of use. Qnap wont support it on android, only works with ios devices.

Have TS-251 and purchased ssl certificate, so I changed ports to 443 in Vmobile. Keep getting error message to check login and password. Qfile and Qmanager work fine and connect to server. Email to Qnap of no help. Didn't work before certificate either with port 80.

This app works fine and is intuitive enough. Connecting to the cameras/NVR works great regardless of if I am on the local network or not. My main concern is the playback UI is a bit of a pain. I would love to see a timeline with marks for motion and alarms like what is shown on the web plugin.

I used to use BlueIrish software. It was an excellent application. You have lots of control to your cctv using mobile app. It works really quick over mobile Internet. However this qnap vmobile app is very basic, very slow and most of time does not connect with the cctvs over the mobile data.

why does the server disappears from the list, and also, Qnap have a local ip and remote ip, why do i have to add 2 servers in order to view thru wifi or WAN?

So far it works great expect the push notifications keep turning back on. I've turned them off and saved it, they turn back on and it's very annoying. Auto on within 30 mins.

Had trouble at first. Changed the default 8080 port on my NAS to other port. Now works great! App could use a few more feature. Look at the free ip cam viewer for example. You can view channels on widgets! Or view all channels side by side in app. Vmobile could have a better presentation.

Works well and is stable. Linked Qnap to remote IP camera using ddns and review recordings on my phone. Speed change settings are very useful and snapshot capture is a good addition.

Why does it need access to my app history and bookmarks? I don't think this should be a necessity for an app that implies that it only connects to my personal cloud... Collecting this data should be optional to the user, not required for an update.

Extremely Unreliable! I've noticed how well the ios app work but the Android app is extremely disappointing. It takes ages to connect to a camera and fails 99% of the item. Please fix. PS: I'm running Surveillance Station 5.0.6 which is released on 2015/08/15.

Cant seem to find a vmobile app tat can work with nvr2004l

I have been using vmobile for a lot of years. This specific version does not work at all on two different phones samsung s6 and LG g2. Problem connecting problem playing recorded feeds and so on. I opened a ticket with qnap and they were unable to help me. Problem said it was my network I spend 1600 euro on qnap and I cannot use the single application they have for surveillance.
