About Auto Pilot Mode

READ THE WHOLE DESCRIPTION BEFORE INSTALLING

The phone will expend a lot of battery searching for a signal to use. Auto Pilot Mode prevents this from happening by automatically enabling Airplane Mode for a specified amount of time when the signal falls below a threshold.

- Signal Strength Threshold Slider
- Custom wait times and airplane mode times
- Basic 3G/4G signal detection (Checks if you are connect to a network or not)
- Only disable cellular service when airplane mode is enabled
- Allow service to start on phone boot
- Keep user toggled airplane mode
- If charging, never enable airplane mode
- If on a call, prevent airplane mode from enabling regardless of the state of phone service
- Remove icon on status bar (May not work for Android below 4.1)
- Remove buttons from notification
- Display more info in notification
- Vibrate when airplane mode is toggled
- Play sound when airplane mode is toggled
- App Statistics (Number of times airplane mode has been toggled, total time with signal, etc)
- Send Anonymous Stats to test new features (Uses WiFi or 3G/4G connection to send data)

This app saves me so much battery life, it works perfectly for me. No more drain from bad cell service when I'm in my basement or roaming. Haven't had any issues. So glad I found this.

Useful app for when you are going in and out of spotty signal. May need to reduce threshold to avoid entering airplane mode prematurely. As others have suggested, an objective scale for thresholding would be nice.

Didn't work on my phone Elephone Vowney.

Works well with 3g data connection But when on 4g the signal gets set to 99. ??????? I've sent an email but had no reply

T70%
by T####:

Kept switching to flight mode even when the threshold was set to as low as 1 and there was a very signal. Galaxy tab P 6800 Android 4.0.4

Saved me a lot of battery...

For example, first signal drop activate airplane mode for 3 min then check signal again, if still no signal get back to airplane mode for 4 mins then check again, if no signal then get back to airplane mode for 5.5 min then check again, if still no signal then get back to airplane mode for 7.5 mins then check again, if still no signal then get back to airplane mode for 10 min and so on, once signal is detected and connected to a tower reset the time back to 3 min Very useful when traveling through mountains

For the most part this app works well. However, I have found the signal strength number to be unreliable. It seems the app only has 5 signal values: 1, 2, 4, 8, and 16. When there is no signal the signal value displays 99. I have found that even when signal strength is 1 that I still have 3+ bars of signal strength. I set the threshold to it's lowest value (1) which means the phone will go into airplane mode even when I have 3 bars of signal strength. I wish there was a wider range of signal values that more accurately represented the actual signal strength.

However, I see some room for improvement. First - please let change the notification sound when the app switches the flight mode as it's using current message sound which is confusing. Other thing is the notification that you can only turn off together with status bar icon - why there are no separate options for them? These are obviously only small issues and the app works perfectly. Thank you for your effort.

You need to root your device for use "airplane mode" control apps!

R70%

"Signal strength" never changes from 99, even in known low reception areas.

Really great App but i didn't understand the scheduler

I like the app but sometimes it causes my phone to crash and even when I change the pending time it goes back to one second and then airplane mode stays on for a while because the phone doesn't have a chance to scan

U70%
by U####:

Obviously well thought out!!I go on mountain drives regularly, where signal is down more than up, including stops where my phone is unplugged. This will preserve my battery during all that.I already had my phone rooted.Love that it can go to Airplane Mode without affecting Bluetooth since I use that for a Pebble smartwatch and playing music on my car stereo. All the tweaks for signal strength, signal type, schedule, notifications, ignoring threshold during phone call or if charging, allowing manual Airplane mode!

If i greenify Google play services autopilot is stopping...Any solution..

Q70%

But the scheduling feature doesn't work.

Q70%
by Q####:

...to zero minutes/1 second... I use this app to reset my phone signal when it gets too weak... and its a little annoying having to wait a whole minute for my phone to get signal back... But would like to add that this is a/an one of a kind great app!

Really great App but i didn't understand the scheduler

H70%

Is there anyway to remove the notification from the notification bar? Great app but would be better if ran in the background w no evidence

Q70%
by Q####:

It just goes in to airplane mode no matter what.

This app definitely helps with battery life in my cellular desert at work. There seems to be some bugs though. I don't think the "Only Disable Cell Service" function works. I have good Wi-Fi coverage, so I would like that to remain enabled.

A70%
by A####:

This app is absolutely a life saver, but it's a little overzealous. It definitely puts me in airplane mode when I have no cell signal, but it ignores that I have selected the option to leave bluetooth and wifi on. If that feature worked, this would be a 5-star rating. OnePlus Android 4.4.4 (CM11s)

D70%
by D####:

Gets stuck in a loop of Has signal - Disabling airplane with airplane already disabled after scheduled interval ends, which Drains battery.

V70%
by V####:

App seems to cause my phone (Nexus 5) to freeze up with screen turned on. Unlocking is unresponsive, must reboot phone. As a result, battery drains faster.

D70%
by D####:

no where it's mentioned root required..

D70%
by D####:

Why would I want to shut off Bluetooth, especially, or maybe Wi-Fi, just because my cellular connection was poor?

D70%
by D####:

2 slots in notification area is way too much wasting space. User actions should have priority over app i. e. If flight mode enabled by user it should not be re-enabled by the app.

G70%
by G####:

But the UI is a bit confusing... It should show all signals (gsm, cdma, lte, etc). It keeps turning off 4g but not 3g. It keeps 4g off, even when autopilot is off. I really like the app but plz keep improving :)

D70%
by D####:

Does this work with dual sim support? The apps has gsm & cdma slider. Does this mean I can use it with my cdma+gsm device ?

D70%
by D####:

Why not letting the user decide if a notification should be constant or not ? I won't use it due to the constant notification.

J70%
by J####:

Great idea but it doesn't look for 4g so it makes the whole app kind of useless.

D70%
by D####:

It seems to be be a good app but I don't really know how to use the gsm cdma threshold slides so it can work properly.. a tutorial maybe??

M70%

Can't install this app(parse error) why?...

S70%

A (battery) life saver!

M70%

Does exactly what it says it will do, every time it says it will do it. On my phone, when I change the 'Airplane Time' setting, the change never takes and resets to the default value '3'. This is very frustrating; to get everything I want from the app I need this fixed. I'm on a Samsung GS3 running Cyanogenmod 10.1.3 (android 4.2.2). Will rerate 5 if fixed.

V70%
