in the common words they have where it signs wrong for what your name because when I type in what's your name it signed differently, don't know if it's signs differently i there's a quotation mark. Wish they had quiz to Go with it I think it would be more helpful and if the guy talked while signing overall really good app better than most the sign language apps

I took 2 year of sign language. But naturally there are still some signs I font know. This is perfect for anyone learning or just needing to refresh their knowledge! I love the fact that you can change the speed, as well as turning to see other parts of the hands. If I was to give any advice the ONLY thing I could think of would be to maybe add some facial expressions since that's such a big part of ASL. All in all though I give this app a 5/5!

Get it definitely if Ur learning ASL. Some of the words like don't are spelled, but it's still a work in progress and what they've done so far is great. It'd also be better if the guy talked that way you see and hear as Ur learning. It'll stick in Ur brain better that way. OVERALL...epic app. Even with the slight disadvantages, you still can't give this less that 5 stars.

Love this app ! My daughter has Autism and ASL is the only way we found that she will communicate with. This app is great . You can change the signing speeds. The only cons I would have with app is there are signs for things that app will finger spell out instead or using sign. I also wish it would store previous history longer when I close app and reopen previous history is gone . Other then that app is great . Would recommend.

Awesome app. Easy to use, quick downloading. Love it... ☝I would like to see the replay option last longer or until the next translation. ✌I

Such a clever idea! Instead of those confusing dictionary pictures, you can actually see someone signing the words. I hope you continue to add to the ASL version! Update: Now, the program even takes non-manual signalers (eyebrows, etc) into account. Wonderful, wonderful app!!

This app is awesome for learning sign language!! Love that you can type in your phrase and the avatar will translate!! Will be even better as the dictionary is expanded. Also really cool to rotate the avatar to see the signs from different angles. You can even slow down or speed up the signing!

THANK YOU SO MUCH !!! THIS APP is a MUST HAVE !!

I really enjoy the translations for ASL. The only gripe I have is some words it finger spells instead of the sign for the word. No biggie because I really like the app! Also I wish you can change the translator into a female translator. Other than that, it's amazing!

Being fluent in ASL, I noticed there were several grammatical mistakes that should be fixed. For example, proper ASL never uses the word "I" for "me." Certain hand shapes are slightly off, but they're still intelligible. Great app for beginners or if you tend to forget a weird sign. Don't get worried if your wrist can't do a full 360° turn like the little avatar! Would love a fingerspelling test! Love it! @dev: If you need any help with signs, I can help you out with a lot of great resources!

1⃣ When I want to replay the same phrase, it shows the "translating…" thing before replaying. It's a bit inconvenient, as it is unnecessary for the app to translate the phrase when I just want to replay it. Can it replay a phrase without having to translate again? 2⃣ It'd be better if it shows what word(s) are being signed. Apparently the guy's mouth moves so is he suppose to say the words? If so then it's not working because he's not speaking. And I'm not hearing-impaired.

I'm very glad that I came back to this app! Now that they've added ASL and fixed whatever bug was messing with it it's become a extremely useful tool. Thank you for getting back to me and recommending that I try again!

A lot of signs don't match what my deaf friends use, might just be American vs Canadian signing though? It can be kind of hard to understand the avatar sometimes too but overall very helpful.

S70%
by S####:

Has a good amount of common and useful words. You can also rotate the image somewhat to get a better angle. However, the gestures go by too quickly and it's hard to tell the handshapes due to the generic nature of the CG model. - In its current form I can see this app being very useful for people whose ASL may be a little bit rusty and who need to quickly look up a sign they've forgotten. A beginner; however, might have a difficult time learning from it without some other source of instruction.

This sign language app is a Cop out! I don't appreciate the fact that the man who signs the words out, he spells out like 80 percent of all the words instead of using the sign that I know it has. This is why I call it a cop out, because it's like he's using the easy way to sign by just spelling out many words using letters of the alphabet. I know there are many more signs for words other than doing all of that spelling out of words . Maybe to make this app better, install more actual signs instead of doing so much spelling and also install a male and female interpreter choice, instead of that weird looking guy all the time! Thanx :)

Mostly a good app... Just many words that do have simple signs are finger spelled by this app. Im a hearing impared person who has been learning ASL as an adult and in social situations its helped but sometime hindered with no sign, wrong or english. Some signs are hard to see correctly also. I think good for beginners.

"ProDeaf" is a good app to ASL, "but only for Pros!" Like people who really commited to learn ASL because the app is "Really Fast, Hard to learn for Middle-class or less (As to Cs), and Can Only Make the Sign Learning Faster!!!" So, if you get the "ProDeaf make Sure First Know the ASL Well and also have an ASL Tutor or Teacher Before Starting the App!" Thank you, for Reading my Comments and I Hope you Listen to my Complains and Adview!!!"

This may be okay for beginners learning individual signs but not if you have any foundation in ASL. I thought the sentence translation would be cool, but the grammar on many sentences is incorrect. Additionally, there are a stunning number of signs the app doesn't know and just fingerspells. Cute but ultimately not useful.

U70%

There are many missing words like sing! And sometimes when he signs a sentence he doesn't do the proper sign. I really like this app and use it all the time but I wish these things could be fixed

I think this app is great expect for one thing. When the guy is turned to the side it's hard to see the hand geatures because his hand's are past the screen and you can't see them. For someone who just found out they're going deaf and want to see the proper way you're supposed to move your hand's, hand's done this app is great for that lol!

I provide childcare for a little 3 year old boy who is deaf and it's the perfect app. to download to speak to someone else in sign language, but I wish it could tell me what another person is say to me in sign language.

The app is a wonderful idea and I have been looking for something like this BUT it won't let me speak into it and then translate it is there a fix on my end that needs done or??

This app needs a new update because some of the signs are wrong. Like it spells my name wrong and a lot of the words that I ask to translate are wrong. Also it would be awesome if we were given the option to share what is translated to my deaf or hard of hearing friends on Facebook or by text. Also sometimes the translater's hands turn in positions that are very unnatural and look creepy and confusing. I think the concept is a great one though

T70%
by T####:

The avatar seems cocky, ;) it's an OK app, it just finger spells more than I'd like instead of doing the signs and is too fast to learn as a beginner...I guess if you have a pro look at it, they would get the gist of it...It'd be like speaking broken English for example. Better than nothing.

I'm actually glad that someone made this because my boyfriend is deaf & I'm hearing, it's kinda hard for me to communicate with him because he doesn't read lips, so this app is really great, it's been helping me to communicate with him better I'm glad to find something to help me with that. Thank you.

The raving reviews are misleading. Some of this stuff is incorrect. I understand that some of the stuff is spelled out because the sign for it isn't avaliable in your system even though there is one, but that's not my issue. I typed in "How are you?" Something simple, and the translation was wrong. It showed "How you" , its never said like that even in slang dialect. Im not even going to bother with the rest lol.

I'm hearing but coming from a family where majority of my family is deaf on both sides. This is huge!!! The deaf community is always in the dark when it comes to communication. There's always someone who speaks Spanish or other languages but it's really hard to find someone who knows sign language. At most people know the alphabet but that's as far as it goes. And when it comes time to find an interpreter for appointments and so on. It can be so rough for someone who is deaf! So to the people that created this app.......GOD BLESS YOU!!!! I know some things still need some work but you have to start somewhere. AWESOME JOB GUYS!!!! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!!!!

I know you're still in the progress of working on the English language, but I really love it. My in-laws are both deaf and this is helping me so much when it comes to learning so I can talk with them more. I showed them this app and they thought it was really cool. Apps like this help make the world a better place by bridging the gap between those who normally wouldn't be able to communicate fluidly. Thank you so much and keep the good work.

This is a great start to what will be an amazing app! I hope they add the ability to slow down the avatar, it goes fast and I have to replay it a few times. Please just keep adding more signs!

I think this app is fantastic for my trying to learn asl. I just think that there should be a way for the translator to slow down when demonstrating words and phrases. Perhaps there can be different speeds to choose from for beginners, intermediates, and experts.

Just started but I really like the feature to speak the phases I use. But I'd like to edit my history items instead of deleting and starting over. I'd also like to sort them like the flow of my conversation I'm putting together; possibly by clicking and dragging like in task apps.

I can't share it with my deaf fiend via Facebook messenger. Which sucks because my friend lives far away. So how do I share what I'm saying with her?

You should get this app if you are struggling learning sign language. ProDeaf is easy to use, and actually does the job!

Hey bud, great app! I would suggest making a suggestion box for words and mispronounced words. I believe "Tired" is signed incorrectly in ASL.

I'm a hearing person who has chosen to break down a language barrier. I really enjoy this app, however, one of the animations are historically off. For the WORD "REALLY," the wrist ratation is WRONG.

H70%
by H####:

Love this app. My only issue is accuracy, it technically has everything correct, but certain phrases and sentence have their own sign progressions and the app doesn't know them so it just spells out most things. For instance, the phrase, "Thank you" has it's own sign and the app just spells it out.

S70%
by S####:

This could be such an awesome ASL app, but there's still a lot of work to be done. Hand gestures could be more specific (signs that should appear in front of his face instead show up in front of his chest like "angry") and some basic gestures are still missing (he spells thank you). This will be angry awesome app once these are addressed!

I work at a restaurant where I interact with the public!!! I'm out in the lobby, where I do all the cleaning and stocking! I have met a young lady who is deaf! !! I knew a little bit of sign language, but was out of practice! This is helping me a lot!

Helpful! Can string words together to make a sentence, and you can rotate the animation to see from the sides. Easy to use, can replay the action and make it slow down if needed. Awesome app!
