PermissionDog for Android
Isn't functioning on my LG G4 Marshmallow phone. APP LOOKS OUSTANDING. It opens -- but within 10-15 seconds of chugging to search and load my applications, it disappears, with the quick flash of "Unfortunately, Permission Dog has stopped". So disappointed.
It keeps scanning the same app over and over and flashing a "scanning" notification, so that I can't see any other notifications. There is no obvious way to disable this. Otherwise it's useful.
I ripped five over-permissioned apps off my phone two minutes after installing PermissionDog and found alternatives pretty easily with the in-app Market link. Thanks for all the hard work you've put into this.
This is awesome. I have gotten rid of several apps that I didn't use... they don't need My info. Love that it tells me how many permissions and what the rating is good to bad. Who knew apps needed so much info on me. Just being pro active.
explains in plain language. Hard to read -I only use landscape mode, tablet or phone.
Thanks a million for creating an app that tells me what permissions each app is requesting, yet this app requests NO PERMISSIONS. I'm off to look for a button that lets me buy you a beer
information is not accurate. it could cause serious problems.
Seems pretty broken. Hitting either of the sort options causes a blank white screen where the info should be. Galaxy S2.
Love the concept, but it usually only shows a me blank white screen when checking apps. When working it's good. A few tweaks and it's a 5 star!
But nothing happens when I click an app in the list. I only get a blank screen. SGS2, v2.3.3.
Not only does it tell me me the number of permission each app demands it also tells me the number by the severity of the red yellow and green
I have now removed apps that I didn't realise were invading my privacy. The only downside is I find it to be a constant drain on the battery.
This a perfect app for sniffing out permissions we are giving away our privacy unknowingly. We can decide which app to keep and which one not to keep. Thank you developers. Good job. Try this app because it will help you because it's always good to know.
Useful to see which apps are causing damage, also it can identify rouge apps that try to harm your device.
Very useful. I found a game that was accessing my contacts list. This app can help you protect yourself from developers like that.
I didn't realize so many of my apps made me so vulnerable! Cool app
"Ignorance has no bounds" if you believe some app creators whom you have no idea where are from and what actual intentions have...cant see or manage your phone and see Private info you are in for a threat!. When you hit install and dont care about that app window permission!you are actually allowing the creators a certain "Acces" to your phone.... Haven fun letting them see what you got. Thanks so much PinApps :) keep up the good work. Sincerely. Ray
This app lets you know what apps use your info for and rates the danger of privacy intrusions.
Only you can see permissions
Perhaps PD should offer list of the top 20 applications that accomplish what needs to be done don't that DO NOT intrude?
Seems great. But wonder a little about the green tick they gave them self.

Its nice to know what apps have permissions to do certain things. And yes even tho it says some apps are high risk doesn't mean they are. It just let's you know what apps are able to access. I have an anti virus on my phone that is at the top of the list but, it does need access to a lot because it needs to be able to scan everything.
App is great does what it says u just have to make sure which apps are safe. Like right now i noticed a app was resending me messages n i found it with this app.
Good simple app. Very well done.
I like the notifications ease of the system. Do not know all of the ins and outs of the programe, but it seems that I am not required to do a lot. Thanks to the developers.
Now if we could just force the app writers to explain, for example, why a flashlight app needs to see your call history.
But it's a little buggy you can't read the permissions in the notification
Congrats for next release with less of permissions. Now, I can recommend it for all users.

Good app unfortunately unstable (blank screen) :(
It was very helpfull, locking down some rogue ware
So far, its been helpful.
I installed it today. I don't have any bad apps (BBM and QQ just have lots of permissions), but I could use this in the future. Quick Question: Is Android susceptible to conventional PC viruses (I.e. rogue antivirus scan scams), or just bad apps?
Awsome app! Lots of detail of what each app is doing.
- Excellent app for verifying permissions. Some apps are using MORE permissons than listed on the Market, which Permission Dog caught. Thank you!
May be tries too hard to show that it is doing something for you.
Tha application is UNSTABLE. It makes the phone reboot. Try to reproduce it fast changing menus before it loads itself fully.
Why does it need permissions? To read contacts Send sms Make phone calls Etc. Etc. When it is just a do to list app?? Uninstalled
