About Calendar Mute

Tired of your phone ringing when you are at a meeting or in class ? Are those saved in your phone's agenda ? Then this app is for you !

Calendar Mute can put your phone to silent or vibrate mode whenever there is an event in one of your agendas, and restore the volume once the event is over. Just tick which agendas to use, and select an action : it is as simple as that !

Calendar Mute will only be running when an event starts, ends, or when the Android system signals a change in your agendas. No need to worry about your battery life : there should be almost no impact on it.

This application has the advantages of being simple and lightweight, contrary to other scheduling applications that can achieve the same objectives by going through a lot of configuration, and use more battery for options you don't need.

Oh, and of course, this app is free, ad-free, and does not require fancy permissions. Actually, it's even open-source, free software (GNU GPL v2).

For questions, fixes, etc, see the Github page (contact website link)

Permission details :
- Read calendar : obviously
- Change audio settings : obviously
- That's it

Note: strictly speaking, there is no "silent mode" in Android 5 Lollipop, it has been replaced by the "Priority mode". Thus, the app will switch your phone to Priority mode instead of the silent mode. You can configure your priority mode to turn off the ringer in your phone settings.

Solves my problem of forgetting to switch between silent and vibrate before and after classes. The "only for busy" party doesn't seem to work. I get silence for free events too on galaxy S5.

I just don't understand why only 1000 downloads. Easiest way to silence phone based on chosen agendas. I have been using it for a long time and recommend it in my job because I haven't heard of an equivalent alternative. It crashes once in a while when I toy with my system (custom ROM 6.0), but I just uninstall/install and it's back on track.

The app works great until it's terminated by the system as a background app. Please add option to enable persistent notification for the app which would constantly display app status in notification area thus increasing app priority and stopping android from closing it as a background app to free the RAM.

by D####:

It worked when I set it to come on when the event started. But when I set it to turn on a few minutes earlier, even though a notice appeared in the notification area saying it was muted, in fact it was not muted. So that feature is not working on my Galaxy Alpha with Lollipop.

S70%
by S####:

Much better than using 'Do Not Disturb' because it still allows alerts, notifications, etc. to go to my Android Wear watch! This should be built into Android!

Really nice to sync with the calenders. For future versions maybe you could have different actions for different calendars, and also actions based on time for sleep for instance. Thank you.

Can you add option to make custom filters? (Search for specific word in title/discription to select specific profile)

M70%
by M####:

Please add an option: When the event ends - set ringtone volume to MAX.

Didn't sync with my calender

Great app simple but very effective

This app is just what I need. Great. However, there's one thing that needs fixing before I can use it. I'm using a Nexus 5, running Android Lollipop. The app is supposed to activate the Silent Mode, right? On my phone, the Priority Mode is activated. For me, this means my phone is not silent - some calls and messages come through. PLEASE FIX!

Great app. It works very nicely on LG G. So far no issues. Would it be possible to add a "disable for the day" option? Would be useful to disable it if you're taking a break for the rest of the day and don't won't your phone to silence anymore. Keep up the good work!

M70%
by M####:

It works nicely except it mutes meetings that are set as free even though in the settings I checked only mute busy events. Will give it 5 star of this bug is fixed.

It could have an option to not mute/disable mute when in/entering car mode.

This app does exactly what it advertises for free. And it does it well!

C70%
by C####:

But if it does... where do I donate?

C70%
by C####:

This is one of very useful app in my device. If there are more options provided for enabling the silent mode it would definitely recommended for 5

M70%
by M####:

The app silenced my phone for an event. I closed it but it didn't revert back to non-silenced. Even now, none of my apps make sounds any more.

App triggers on "Out of Office" appointments. Should only trigger on "Busy" appointments, as stated in configured options.

W70%

Works great! I tried the built in Moto Assist functionality, but it didn't work for about half of my meetings. This app gets it right every time.

C70%
by C####:

Would be better if there was an option to manually toggle, for when the event runs shorter or longer than the calendar specifies.

S70%
by S####:

Works well, but is missing one huge feature: - Only mute for events I have accepted. Currently, it will mute all events (allowing to filter for busy events) whether I have accepted it or not.

C70%
by C####:

Works like a charm. Start and end delays are a good addition. Plus it works on Lollipop! (AFAIK the only app that does that.)

I70%
by I####:

Does exactly what it claims to do, and then some more! Big thanks to developers!

Configurable but not complicated, does what it says on the box

C70%

This does that thing.

C70%

Unfortunately this app is completely unstable - I would get multiple notifications every day telling that it had stopped working, and also notifications informing me that it is causing my device to slow down...

H70%
by H####:

It does work with Android Lollipop, but the "Restore to previous mode" does not turn the sound back on at the end of an appointment.

C70%
by C####:

Not sure if it was android update to 5.1.1 , or the Google calendar update. But now it doesn't mute at all. Have uninstalled and reinstalled.

C70%
by C####:

I like the app and continue to use it. However there is room for improvement. Such things like: Having a whitelist for people who you would want to allow to ring With the whitelist being able to set a ring volume for them Having the ability to just reduce the volume instead of mute or on
