About New Shoelace ideas
The shoelace knot, or bow knot, is commonly used for tying shoelaces and bow ties.
The shoelace knot is a doubly slipped reef knot formed by joining the ends of whatever is being tied with a half hitch, folding each of the exposed ends into a loop (bight) and joining the loops with a second half hitch. The size of the loops and the length of the exposed ends are adjusted when the knot is tied. It has the stability of the reef knot but is significantly easier to untie, simply by pulling the ends away from the center of the knot.
New Shoelace ideas application gives you more inspiration for your shoelace styles; Braided Bar lace pattern, the “five” shoelace, The 50/50 lace, The Straight Tongue shoelace, the Diamond Shoelace design.
The Braided Bar lace pattern is ideally suited for any type of shoe, although its innovative styling will likely be relegated to shoes that are not worn for intensive athletic use. With that being said, it’s possible for the Braided Bar shoelace design to be perfectly comfortable for running, skating and more, especially when paired with the Lace Anchors® system. It negates the need for a bow.
While the “five” shoelace design is compatible with all shoes, we recommend this pattern for regular sneakers or shoes, not used for athletic purposed due to difficulty in adjusting the tension once the pattern is complete.
The 50/50 lace pattern can be used on almost any shoe that requires laces, such as sneakers or even boots. However, since it has a bit of a “sportier” appeal, it’s probably best suited for an athletic/casual shoe with several eyelets on each side. When used with the proprietary Lace Anchors® system, it is not necessary for any bows to be tied when using the 50/50 shoelace design.
The Straight Tongue shoelace design is both attractive and utilitarian. After all, its main purpose is not only to look awesome, but it also solves the issue of shoe tongues that move around while the wearer is walking or playing a sport. For this reason, any Straight Tongue lacing patterns should be done only on shoes that have a tongue with a “loop” in it — this loop is meant for shoelaces to go through.
As one of the more popular funky lace patterns, the Diamond Shoelace design requires shoes that have several eyelets. Thus, sneakers and boots work really well. Vans and Vans-styles can also be used. The key is that the top of the shoe should be visible enough to make the Diamond Lace design stand out. If you have a small tongue in your shoe, the pattern won’t be as obvious to onlookers. It will still be appealing, just not as dramatically so.
