About DIY Clothespins Design Ideas

Easy DIY Clothespin Scarf Holder
Scarves are my favorite type of accessory, so I have a ton of them – but I've never had a good way to store them. They've always been balled up in a drawer, only to emerge wrinkled and dingy. Until now! Keep reading to find out how to make a nifty wall-mounted scarf holder using wooden clothespins.
You Will Need:
30 Wooden Clothespins
3″ x 36″ x 1/4″ Piece of Balsa Wood
Wood Glue
Latex Paint
Paintbrush
Command Adhesive Strips
Begin by painting your clothespins using latex paint. Cover the top of each clothespin in a solid coat of paint, and then gently draw it down using a relatively dry brush to give it a painterly look. Let the paint dry.

Next, lay the clothespins out on the balsa wood. Make sure that they are evenly spaced… there should be about 3/4″ in between each pin.
Clothespin Scarf Hanger Glue
Now begin gluing the pins down. Use a very thin coat of wood glue to ensure that the excess doesn't ooze out around the edge of the pin. Make sure that they are all still evenly spaced and straight – wood glue dries quickly and permanently.

Now all that's left to do is mount it to the wall. Let everything dry for at least an hour, and then flip it over. Place one Command Strip on each end according to the instructions on the box.

Next, determine where you'd like to mount your holder. Place it on the wall and press firmly on each end for one minute to make sure it is secure. Note: if you plan to hang tons of heavy winter scarves on the rack, consider mounting it to the wall using screws rather than Command Strips.

And you're finished! There's a lot of room to personalize this project… try painting the clothespins different colors, or use a contrasting color on the balsa wood. If you really want to get creative, you could even cut the whole thing in two and glue the halves to a clothes hanger so you can hang it in the closet. The possibilities are endless!

Peg art is a craft where clothes pegs are used as the building material. Peggy the peg Art Skeleton is made from sprung clothes pegs and a wooden spoon. Peggy's arms and legs all move at their joints because the peg limbs are joined on the inside with wool to make the peg art moveable.
Peggy makes a great Halloween toy or a Halloween decoration to make your house look spookier on Halloween.
To make Peggy the Peg Art Skeleton you will need...
Wooden Sprung Pegs (dismantled and all the springs discarded except for 6. You may wish to use some pegs as clamps whilst the glue dries.)
Wood Glue
Wool or String
Paint
Skeletons Ribs
The skeleton ribs are two peg halves joined together at the tapered ends and overlapping one another about the same distance as the spoon handle is wide. Make and sick 6 ribs to the wooden spoon handle. The bottom set of ribs should not stick out as far as the ribs above so make the overlap bigger on this rib. Make sure you leave the skeleton a neck and leave some of the bottom of the spoon handle available for the pelvis bone.
Skeletons Arms
The skeleton arms have string or wool running through them. With a length of string doubled in half, thread the loop through 6 of the discarded peg springs, and then thread the rest of the string through the loop and pull tight to that the springs are firmly connected to the end of the string. This is the skeleton's hand.
Stick two peg halves, back to back with the string sandwiched between. The tapered end of the pegs should point to the hand. This is the forearm.
In a similar fashion glue two more peg halves so that the rounded end meets the rounded ends of the forearm. This is the skeleton's upper arm.
Finally make the skeletons shoulder with two more pegs, the rounded ends meeting the tapered ends of the upper arm. Cut the remaining string at the tapered ends of the skeleton's shoulder.
