As per Govt. of Karnataka, effective From 1 Nov 2013 if you are selling goods above Rs.20,000 (incl. Taxes) it is mandatory for you to generate esugam number. If you do not generate the esugam number the bill / invoice will be invalid and you may face penalties from the Commercial Taxes Department, applicable to all commodities.
m-Sugam is a productive utitlity app built for android mobile phones which generates the esugam number easily & makes it possible to get your esugam number directly via SMS on your registered number.

The app works great no doubt about it, but my querry is sometimes I receive the sugam number late through sms due to server problems, so I feel that if you develop an app which functions exactly as e sugam on computer, serial number would be immediately generated, no problem of waiting for sms..but the only disadvantage of such an app if generated would be that you need internet connection all the way
