About Flip Case Control

Close the Flip Cover case and the screen turns off. Open the Flip Cover Case and the screen turns on.

That's the way it should be and now it's here.

Tested on Galaxy S7 and Nexus 5X

Currently not compatible with non-Samsung ROMs (AOSP/CM)

IMPORTANT: If your case is black or dark on the inside, the sensor may not read correctly when the case is closed. To fix this, put a piece of light colored tape on the inside of the case where it lines up with the sensor (located next to the front camera)

If you have a Note II and you're experiencing high battery use: turn off "Reduce Sensitivity" I'm working on a fix.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Q. Does it use a lot of battery?
A. On my test phones, it comes in around 0.3-0.5% per hour depending on usage.

Q. Is the sensor on all the time?
A. It can be, if you don't want it to be then try Night Disable or Limited Screen On to disable it.

Q. Is that bad to leave the sensor on all the time?
A. No, the sensor is just a passive light sensor paired with an LED. It's ok to let the LED run.

Q. Can my phone still reach the "Deep Sleep" state?
A. Yes.

Q. Sometimes the screen takes a little bit longer to turn on after opening the case, is something wrong?
A. No, that's normal. The phone has powered down to the "Deep Sleep" mode and takes a little bit of time to wake up.

Permissions Needed:
Get Settings - Needed for core functionality
Wake Lock - Needed for core functionality
On Boot - Auto start on boot up
(Optional) Device Admin - Screen Lock: Used as an alternative method to turn off the screen if the default one does not work. It will need to be disabled prior to uninstalling the app if used.

Love it! so far no problems, 4 stars for lack of settings and also would love the option to hear a noise when case is opened or closed like on the ipad

Only works half the time, and it destroys battery life

...consider this trash. Free trial worked some of the time. Paid version worked none of the time. Heck, I couldnt even get the screen to close putting my finger over all three of the front sendors! This was installed on a Samsung Galaxy Note 2. And removed.

Does what it says... waiting fur note 2 update.

Was working perfect pre last 2 updates on s3, but now screen timeout is all jacked up. I like what you've done here, hopefully all issues will be resolved soon.

I use this app with an S4 enclosed in an Otter Box. My Home Key stopped waking up the S4 screen and I couldn't find anything to tell me how to fix it. The Home Key performs its other functions fine. This app still allows me to place my S4 face down and put the screen asleep but almost instantly wake it when I flip the S4 back over. Great app,

On a sprint GSIII works well when it's working. I get a notice at least once or 2x a day that it crashed or for some reason it just isn't running so I have to relaunch it. But other than that when its working it's well worth the $2 although Samsung should have really integrated it.

The trial worked beautifully so I paid for the full version. Testing it on the home screen displays it doesn't work, but if there is an app in use it's fine.

My screen timeout gets reset to 10 seconds every time on my note 2. So 3 stars for now because i have to change it back all the time.

Does exactly what it says it will do. No issues using the Samsung grey flip cover, but if you're having trouble try placing some light colored tape or something on the inside of the cover where the proximity sensor would be, as the developer says in the description. I don't see why people are rating this poorly.

At first the app wasn't working all the time, now it works and seems to save battery too!

I had a flip case at I need point in time but I took the cover off and put a led strip in the spacing. But this is awesome without a flip cover I wake my phone just by picking it up or flipping it over our pulling it out of my pocket definitely worthy of the money

Latest update has this app working again on my Verizon Note 2. Once again I can recommend this app.

Works fine on my nexus 4 with my new lime flip case i bought for it, the screen comes on fine when the case is flipped open, but sometimes when i close the case it doesn't register it. That's with the reduce sensitivity off, so it should be better. Could do with adding a sensitivity slider or something along the lines.

Before the last update this use to work pretty well. Now it works very sporadically if at all. I think the phone kills the application after some time goes by. This is even when the icon is removed.

B70%
by B####:

Yeah it quit working as nice after the update. Using the option switch back to previous version doesn't work. The longer time out doesn't work. It's insanely sensitive to turn off the screen. I can't even use my phone correctly. Get this working on Note 2 now....

This app does not work on note 2 don't wast your money. This the first time I have ever taken the time to write a review about an application. But I felt I needed to let people know.

The latest update seems to have stopped working on my Note 2. The previous version seemed to work OK. Might want to wait to purchase until the bugs are worked out for the Note 2.

Sprint note2. The screen will go off when I close the cover but the app is shutdown when screen goes off so therefore won't turn the screen back on when you open the cover. Tried apps that exclude the app from being killed in system processes but no luck. I am rooted so even the apps that give me more control as far as killing and keeping apps going didn't even work. Something has to be fixed by dev.

X70%
by X####:

Sometimes it's working fine and most of the time not Was recommended buy a note 2 review but didn't work properly. Hopefully it will get fixed SOON EDIT.-After I left this review it is working A LOT better. I believe my proximity sensor was dirty . After cleaning all is well. Worth buying

T70%

Doesnt consistently work....

X70%

All this app did is run my battery down..Why should I have to use tape on my phone cause of poor source code writing..wish I could get refund..waste of money.
