About Share via HTTP - File Transfer

The easiest way to share files from your Android to any device!

Just choose one or more files.

This app will open an HTTP server in which anyone can download the file.

You can also, from any Android app, click on "share" and "Share via HTTP".

The link will always be your phone's IP address on port 9999. Example: http://10.1.1.100:9999/

If you choose just one file, the link will transfer the file itself. If you choose many files, a ZIP containing all the chosen files will be generated on the fly. That means you will not have to wait nor space on you device will be used. If you share a contact, a vCard will be generated on the fly.

After sharing a file though any program, you can later click on "Share Containing Folder" to share the whole folder in which the file is located. (only for supported file URIs)

It is of course possible to have multiple users downloading at the same time!

If you have a Barcode Scanner, a QR CODE of the URL will be generated.

This app is open source. Grab the source and the APK at https://github.com/marcosdiez/shareviahttp

It is by the way possible to share APPs with this software if used together with AppSender ( https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.genmy5han.appsender )

The amazing new UI was done by Stefan M.

Accessing the IP address, it automatically downloads. And if multiple files are shared, it will download them all in a zip file, only it won't name the file appropriately. Rather than giving the downloaded file a zip extension, it gives it the same name as the last file you downloaded. So unless you know to rename myfile.jpg to myfile.zip, you'd be lost. It'd be much much better if the accessing the address would display a list of the shared files and allow me to download them manually. Or at least group them into a zip file and name it properly! Also, a passcode to access the address would be great as well, ya know, for basic common sense security reasons.

So far the only app that allows me to transfer a file trough http over the mobile hotspot feature. I use it to put books and pdf files on my e-reader on the go. Other apps require both devices to be connected to a LAN network. Would be 5 stars if it could serve an index page, so I don't have to select and download files one by one :)

Incredible! An app that shares files you pick on your phone, via a http webserver. What I looked for, for half an hour, but this not only delivered it; but does it with style and efficiency! Easy to use interface, even zips up files when multiple ones picked, but does it as a virtual zip file, so it doesn't waste space on your phone! Did I mention it's open source too, so not trying to stuff adware or commercial services, down your throat. Dude - I love you

M70%

A lot of other apps claim to offer this feature, but they all either fail to do a transfer over http, don't do it over WiFi, or ask for unnecessary permissions. It's simple and probably what you are seeking.

No bullshit. Would be the best app ever if not for 2 things: 1 - The notification that the url was copied to the clipboard covers the buttons 2 - I can't get the QR code generation to work. It says no QR code app available, but one is available.
