Fiesta Pagana - Mago De Oz

Mägo de Oz (Spanish for Wizard of Oz, with a metal umlaut) are a Spanish folk/heavy metal band from Begoña, Madrid[1] formed in mid-1988 by drummer Txus di Fellatio.[2] The band became well known for the strong Celtic feel to their music strengthened through their consistent usage of a violinist and flautist. The name for the band was chosen, according to founding member Txus, because "life is a yellow brick road, on which we walk in the company of others searching for our dreams."[3]

In 1992, the band were finalists in the Villa de Madrid contest. Then they went on to achieve great success in Spain, and in 1995, were declared Revolution Rock Band. Around 1996, the band's definitive line-up began to emerge; that same year, they began recording the rock opera CD, Jesús de Chamberí, which was produced by Alberto Plaza and Mägo de Oz. The CD was released in 1996, through their former label, Locomotive Music.

Mägo de Oz es una banda española de folk metal fundada el 7 de julio de 1988 por el baterista Txus di Fellatio en el barrio de Begoña de Madrid. Inicialmente se llamó "Transilvania 666" en honor a Iron Maiden, adoptando el nombre definitivo de Mägo de Oz en 1989.1

Desde sus inicios se caracterizaron por su heterogénea y peculiar propuesta musical de mezclar el sonido del metal y hard rock tradicional con el de otros estilos tan dispares como la música clásica, el rock and roll, el blues, la música celta y la música folk entre otros. Sin embargo, la música celta es la que más ha predominado en el sonido de sus canciones hasta la actualidad.1 Consagrados como una de las bandas más importantes del heavy metal español, saltaron al éxito en 1998 con el disco La leyenda de la Mancha, llegando a las listas de éxitos musicales de España con canciones como «Molinos de viento» o «Fiesta pagana», ésta última de su primer disco conceptual doble, Finisterra.
