Surah Al-Fatiha & Translation

Al-Fatiha (سورة الفاتحة) is the first sura of the Qur'an. Seven verses (Ayat) is a prayer for guidance, divinity and grace of God. This surah has an important role in the Islamic prayer (Salat). The literal meaning principal of the phrase "al-Fatihah" is "opening", which could refer to the chapter to "the opening of the Book" (Fātiḥat al-Kitab), to the first chapter was read in each cycle (cycles) of prayer, or the way in where he serves as an opener for a lot of functions in daily Islamic life.

Al-Fatihah is often believed to be a synthesis of the Qur'an. That in itself is a prayer at the beginning of the Quran, which acts as the introduction of the Al-Quran and imply that the book is for people who are seekers of truth-reader who asked the god who is the only one worthy of all the praise (and is the creator, owner, keeper of the world etc.) to guide him to the straight path.
