Binaural beat based mind altering programs are becoming increasingly popular. Digital Highs takes the experience to a new level by combining the pulsing beats of binaural entrainment with flashing lights. Please note that all of the sessions start off on the same frequency, the normal waking brainwave frequency. As the session progresses they each change in different ways.
There a few other binaural altered states apps on the app store, and it seems like some of them are misrepresenting the experience by naming their entrainment sessions directly after illicit drugs, such as marijuana, cocaine, or heroin. Digital Highs will not exactly duplicate the effects of these drugs (and neither will the competition, if truth be told) but it will guide your mind into a new type of altered state. The free version will allow you to try 4 of the 40 sessions that are available in the full version.
What you should expect from Digital Highs is a type of intense meditation. Terms such as hallucinogenic and psychedelic are still used because those are terms that the average person can relate to a little better, but in reality the "hallucinations" will seem more like vivid daydreams. Like any mental feat, the daydreams and clarity of consciousness won't come easy to beginners. For that reason it is suggested that everyone start with the sessions labelled "beginners" in their description. These are designed to be easier for people less accustomed to meditation and other mental visualization type exercises to benefit from.
Digital Highs contains only the binaural programs with a pink noise backing track. This saves hundreds of megabytes of space on your Android device compared to mp3 based players with trippy music in the background. Compare to I-Doser.

I'm an atheist but I've been long open minded on meditation and I can conclude it DOES help me. It's like this...you are high but spiritually, it helps you maintain peace and bliss but at the same time the perception is altered and makes music sound enjoyable which thus enhances creativity. I'm a recording artist so it helps out my lyrical skills as well. I highly recommend it to anyone who is open minded on meditation. Personal favs are Green Dreams and Reality Buster which takes me to another realm.

I originally downloaded this app to help calm my nerves, and it's gone above and beyond my expectations! I have the longest, most vivid lucid dreams when I listen to Reality Burster for 17 minutes! 10/10 would recommend!

I wish I could give this more than 5 stars. I'm a recovering narcotic addict. And nothing has ever made me feel as good as actual pain killers did. But... I found this wonderful app. And it pulled me out of my funk and made me feel like I just took 5 percocet. So helpful.
