In a modern refinery several production areas are present, in which in case of failure dangerous gases (both toxic and explosive) can arise. It is therefore important that released gases are maintained within the leakage area and cannot reach other areas, in particular outside the refinery.
A Caccialanza Water Wall Monitor System is the best suggested solution to achieve this goal.

The way in which the system operate depends on the wind conditions.

Following possible operations of the system are illustrated:
- in absence of wind or wind velocity V< 6 m/sec
- with moderate wind conditions (wind velocity 6 m/sec < V < 30 m/sec)
- with strong wind conditions (wind velocity V > 30 m/sec).
