About Tuscany Dive

Head Tracking Virutal Reality Demo
Tuscany Demo from Oculus Rift SDK for Android

Welcome to Tuscany!
Explore the beautiful Tuscany using the OpenDive / Dive glasses.
In this demo, you can move with a controller. Alternatively, you can look on the ground to activate or deactivate the auto-walk.
With a touch on the screen you can turn on more graphic effects. But therefore a powerful smartphone is required! A realistic impression is created by the use of headphones, and without disturbing ambient light.

The level is from the Oculus SDK and it is designed for more computing power than a smartphone can offer. So the frame rate can suffer.

Im on my Lg K10 using the vr shinecon bluetooth controller i can move forwards and backwards but cant turn around i had to walk backwards to get in the house just guessing where the door was i dont have gyroscope on this phone but read the app was still usable since it required a controller.

I can enable all graphics. Using the $13 SUNNYPEAK Bluetooth controller, in game mode, you can walk around, and jump. I finally jumped over the wall, and visited the next village!

K70%

Using Google cardboard v2. 0 I was able to use it. No controller is needed. Look down to stop walking and again to start. Don't try the HD version as it may not work on your phone at all.

No updates since 2014? That's bad, but it's a demo I guess. Would be nice to see more content. Works nice and smooth. Note 4 T-Mobile.

A bit laggy on my lg nexus 5x, i dont understand why use dynamic shadowmaps instead of baked lighting. Apart from that the demo is great espesially the jump over the hedge bug)

Looking around is horrible, it's specific for this app. (LG G4)

K70%
by K####:

Even on a latest phone it wasn't smooth enough to be a good VR experience.

please allow screen tilt leveling in the y axis ( view up and down ) like in youtube app so user can set the tilt of screen that makes the imersive environment level - also allow trackpad on bluetooth keyboard to act as a secondary way to look around

Amazing rendering on my Exynox S7 edge. Perfect app and looks better than on the original Oculus Rift DK2.

this app worked nicely on xiaomi redmi note 4. the other vr apps like youtube in vr doesn't seem to work. can someone tell me what's up with the other apps not working?

This doesn't work on a phablet's bigger screen, while other cardboard apps can apply the custom geometrical settings.

Fantastic app. I bought a cheap Bluetooth controller and can now jump in the game. At the side of the villa there's a big tree and some barrels. I jumped up against the tree which lifted me up and then I was over the wall. The whole village is fun to explore, then I fell into the water. Underwater is like being back up the hillside. Then I fell over that hill and into the sky, where I'm still falling. Very surreal but very cool! I hope you guys add more to the experience beyond the villa itself.

Simple experience with nice graphics. The sound really adds to the immersion. However the sensor noise is quite poorly handled which makes the app a little shaky. Also the walking speed is a little too fast. Maybe it could slow down near objects like doors, walls, trees, etc.

I like the scene, and the freedom in the environment, like jumping. - I would like to be able to hold a button to lock and unlock spin orientation, to spin around when I'm sitting in a chair.

If you have a red samurai controller you can jump the wall and get the the nearby village! There is a WHOLE VILLIAGE TO EXPLORE!!! Glitch OP, find the sword and you can fight the boss in the green house in the far back, it's just a wild dog but it's still fun as ****!

X70%
by X####:

The walking speed needs to adjusted. It's a tad bit too fast. We're not playing FPS here, since this demo is a gateway for non gamer to experience VR.

X70%

Super pretty, not much to do but fun to just walk around.

X70%

This is a very artistic and beautiful looking design. But the controls!... Why do we have to look down every time we want to run/walk? Magnet is the perfect thing to use for that (hold to walk). We can look down for changing graphics.

It's hard to imagine how much cooler this vr experience actually is, versus the way that you think it will be by just previewing the app on a flat screen. A lot of fun. Thanks.

Cant make this work. Fixed screen

This is a relatively simple environment to explore, but I think it is one of the best examples of what this technology is capable of. My galaxy S5 can only handle the "high" graphics setting at certain points and it always lags at very high settings.

Beautiful, especially on the 'very high' graphics setting. I spent quite a while just looking out over the water. The walk/stop mechanic works well. Great way to show carboard VR off to your friends and family. I wish you could go out the gate and walk over the hills and down to the water. Look, it's only a small demo, but for what it is, it's worth five stars.

Great graphic. Suggestion for maker.. if we can go out the fence and tour the village that will be even batter. Add more houses and trees for touring. Make the whole village if you can. I love it.

Cardboard and Moga controller... Best combination ever for this app. I really would love to see the world expanded

X70%

Runs smooth and it's beautiful and thus I wish the world was more open.

My first vr app and my jaw dropped when I saw. It lags badly though and there are better apps.

This is a beautiful app as it is and the imagery is amazing. This alone makes it a good experience but not an incredible experience. However...using my cheap red samurai controller, I found a glitch that lets you jump over the wall using the "4" button. It takes a little bit of finagling but eventually in the right spots and consistently pressing that button you can jump over the wall! This is where the game goes from good to absolutely kick butt awesome. So yea, at that point you can explore the villages and the surrounding landscape as well. I could seriously spend hours playing this app because of that glitch. I have no idea why the developers didn't include this in the game to begin with.

Nice immersive environment that leaves you wanting to explore further. A good first app to download with your Google Cardboard.

Really like how it let's you choose your graphics settings, so you can run it according to your smartphones performance. Also, great graphics and immersion. I like how you walk by looking down.

One of the first VR apps I downloaded and still love going back to it, to have a look around. Has anyone else made it over the wall? I have. Your able to walk around and go down to the water. Probably not supposed to be able to but hey its great that you can. Really recommend it.
