About DroidText
This app runs OCR (Optical Character Recognition) on your device, and is suitable for recognizing text and words that exist in an image taken with your device. You can also crop a part of the image for a more precise recognition. There is no need for internet access.

After the text is detected, you may use it in several ways, including:

I was hoping to use it to copy recipes into a text based database. Unfortunately it barely recognized anything until there were only 1 - 3 words in the frame. I've uninstalled it since. Used it on Galaxy Note 3.
