This will replace your gps.conf. In my case it made the gps even worse. This program need for starters a built in way to be able to backup/restore the original gps.conf. Additionally it also lack the possibility to just change the time servers and keep the rest as is.

Works before rooting or denying superuser but doesn't allow the actual program to do it's stuff. After allowing superuser it will stay on a black screen and finally force quit. Using Galaxy Nexus and I would really like to see this work. Fixed it myself by installing busybox

Love it cause on HTC Desire it works perfect. On rooted SGS3 first only black screen :-( but after busybox update it's perfect again. So, use busybox installer from market...

Freezes with black screen. Used to run well on my S2 back in the day though.

Black screen, what else to review. It was a very deep & rich black! I need someone to shed some light to.dispel the darkness.

Doesn't work at all now on Galaxy Nexus 4.2.1. Black screen, force close. Stock ROM, rooted with busy box.

The app's description mentions that it modifies your NTP_SERVER. There is no warning about the fact that the app will replace your entire gps.conf file. Additionally, the file it uses for gps.conf is very bare-bones. If you've tailored your AGPS or set an ACCURACY_THRES= , say good-bye to all your settings. What this app leaves behind works OK, but I'd only use this app if my GPS wasn't working at all.

Was working fine until recent updates. Still black screens after latest update, Samsung Galaxy S II on Android 2.3.4

Instant lock after running app. For those that are having trouble, device must be rooted and allowed super user access.

I was all set to re-write my gps config file when i found this , installed and i was locked on in seconds of getting outside of a concrete den. It does exactly what it say on the tin WELL DONE and thanks.

Unfortunately, after giving a black screen when I ran the app, the GPS was left broken. No fix anymore. Then I had to recover the /etc/gps.conf manually in order to get the GPS functional again.

Used to work perfectly but now the server defaults back to Asia whenever I restart the phone. Makes it much worse than normal

Been having a problem on custom roms with GPS coming and going but with this app it seems to be fixed I get an instant lock! Thanks dev

Fantastic did what it said got a GPS lock much faster. Looks like all it does is change the phones ntp server I guess the phone uses that to locate the closest satellites. it really worked

I have a rooted thunderbolt, but after installing my gps doesn't work at all. Tried for over 30 minutes to acquire a signal!!!

With the latest version i get only a black screen when i launch the app. Too bad i really liked it on my previous phone

FasterFix eliminated GPS lag in the custom ROM, now GPS lock is notably quicker. Great developer!!! He helped me to set the best timeserver for my location.

App still works on my new phone like it did on my DX. Loses a star because you always have to go back in after a reboot and reset it back to North America from Asia. Fix it so it will stick and back to 5 stars.

My gps problem fixed..

I had this on my fascinate and it worked great, but I got a vibrant and it gives me a blank screen. Other programs needing root work well.

My GPS was very slow, up to 5-10 minutes to get signal. After installing this app, i wait only 5 seconds to get satellite connecton! It's amazing! Galaxy ACE, 2.3.6.1

Normally great, but broken ATM. Shows only country selection, region is missing. And it reports failure each time you click go.

I had an issue installing this. It would only give me a black screen. After verifying busybox was installed (it wasn't) AND RESTARTING MY PHONE the app began to work flawlessly! (I continued to get the black screen after installing busybox)

The most frustrating part of using Waze was waiting for the gps lock. Faster fix allows the gps to lock within a few seconds! The only permission is for network access, which allows the setting for the time source.

Please install superuser and busyboxInstaller in google play first before install this. I had try this and worked very well in locking gps in just a sec.. Great app,,

I downloaded this on my samsung galaxy s 3 for verizon and I could immediately notice a difference in the speed of the gps

Like many Android users, I was getting the endless "Searching using GPS..." I've read and tried many solutions (including the popular "GPS Status & Toolbox") but none of them worked. FasterFix is the ONLY tool that has fixed my GPS lock speed. It now takes about 45 seconds to get a lock.

Reduced GPS lock time on my device from 10-15 mins to freaking 4-5 secs. Thanks for this.

Works like charm on Samsung Galaxy S (rooted). If you don't know how to ROOT your phone, this app is not for you.

As per the title. Can't complain at saving 49 seconds for the phone to get a fix! Should make Waze'ing much better. Cheers!

Absolutely superb. I've no idea how it does it, but I'm locking on in under ten seconds, before it was five minutes or more.

First fix in under 5 seconds consistently now, accuracy under 20 feet in around 10 seconds - use with GPS Status to update or clear the A-GPS data.

This is great. I was using an unlocked t mobile galaxy s2 in south america and couldn't get a signal. After using this app I have no problems anymore.

and users who rate this 1 start.. please read before using it.. u need to have root access with super user installed

After a 4.2.2 upgrade I tried but couldn't save the edited gps.conf file on a rooted desire. Previously I used systemrescuecd to have nailed it but a PC was needed. Maybe I also need to change the folder permissions but oh well. This time as soon as I install and configure FasterFix and reboot, my location was found almost instantly. Thanks Bernard for this nice app.
