About DIY Popsicle Stick Crafts
Popsicle stick crafts are very easy kid crafts you can do with children to create charming products out of Popsicle sticks. It is one of Boredom Busters your Kids will actually love. By going to a local craft store, you can purchase containers of what they call "craft sticks" that will run you around two dollars for 1000 sticks. For a little more you can also buy colored sticks that won't need to be colored. You will need to have a supply of craft glue or white glue to complete your projects as well as whatever elaborations you want to use.
Picture Frame:
If you're looking for easy kid crafts, you might want to start by making craft stick Christmas picture frames. Old Christmas cards make great pictures and can be created as Christmas presents. Begin by gluing one stick across the top and one across the bottom of the image. Your next part will go on across on top of these two sticks forming a rectangle. You can try putting the sticks two high, or you can arrange them to generate a layered look. By adding a little glitter, glitter glue, or some stickers, your kids will have made a pleasant little frame image.
Popsicle Stick House:
Craft sticks can be easily cut with shears which makes them even more flexible. Using the wide craft sticks, you can help kids create a stunning Popsicle stick house.
This one is a bit trickier to explain in words, for each wall, use 8 large sticks set side-by-side. On each one, glue two sticks (one at the top, one at the bottom) across the 8. In all, this will be 40 sticks.
You will then want to draw a doorway with a pencil and cut it out using sharp scissors or knife. Obviously, this task will be performed by an adult.
To connect the walls, use a one-inch thick strip of construction paper which is as almost as long as the sticks; Fold that strip in half length-wise, so that it creates a joint. Glue each outer edge of this folded paper to the edges of the stick walls to join them together. Repeat this process three times, until all four walls are connected and standing.
Obviously, this is a very basic foundation. You can get more involved if you'd like. Roofing is more complex and requires cutting and measuring, so if you're interested in creating a proper Popsicle stick home, I would encourage you to learn all the little details via video. I just wanted to illustrate the point for you that with Popsicle stick crafts, you can get as simple and basic or as grandiose and complex as you'd like. All skill sets and ambition levels are welcome!
Pen stand/ Vase:
It can be done in two ways. First, one is arranging the stick's zigzag or in square shape. Second method is placing cups or magazine rolls as base, and pasting it on them.
Furniture:
In kid's craftwork project, you could make small furniture like chair, bed, swing, and baby cradle. Adding some dolls or toys, ornaments make your craft amazing.
As you can see, crafting with Popsicle sticks could not be simpler, and you'll be completely impressed by how awesome your craftworks convert out.
