Great app! Very powerful and useful tool.

GPS never worked correctly. Spent hours driving in circles, then arriving at dead ends, obviously not the attraction we were looking for. Any time I tried to use it, it could never get info to come up.

Love the books, love the apps. Thank you for taking me and my family to places in the islands we never would have ventured to, much less found, on our own! You guys rock!

I bought the book before the latest edition for my first trip, but now I'm going back and this app is THE best Hawaii local guide ever! So handy that you don't need internet connection just to browse through the app. It is as frank and informative as the book and just so handy having this on my Google Nexus tablet. Can't wait to test the GPS locator when on the islands!

All the inside scoop in one place. I live here and I use it a lot. So much to do and see here. Thanks for a great app.

The app worked great and pointed us to.every site we wanted to.visit. the directions that came from the app into google maps were easy to use. Great companion for a visit to oahu!!!

Great content. The only thing keeping it from getting the coveted 5th star is the fact that the text doesn't repaginate or wrap when you zoom. Also, a setting to change the default text size would be very helpful.

OK - we have both the Oahu Revealed book and this software... Both present the same excellent content - you'll read the same pithy descriptions of attractions and restaurants. But this software makes the guidebook experience an absolute dream! Imagine you are driving around and find you are hungry. Just tap on the map and the nearby attractions including places to eat appear. Tap to see the guide ratings and descriptions. Press get directions and navigation is all loaded up!

I'm a huge fan of Doughty's Hawaii guidebooks. This was my first experience with one of his apps, and it's EXCELLENT. It has virtually everything in the books, and it's presented in a clean, sharp, and well-organized fashion. Differences from the guidebook include: (1) hyperlinks to other review sections (rather than saying "see page 38"). (2) maps are interactive and all connected. Doughty's maps are always great, With the app, you don't have to flip to different pages ... they're all connected in a familiar and easy-to-use way. (3) Driving directions through Google Maps are easily accessed by tapping on the "Map It" button shown on each individual attraction/restaurant/hotel page. (4) Keep track of attractions (etc.) by adding them to your Favorites. Suggestions to developer: (A) Add a link on the App's map screen to take you to the analogous spot on Google Maps (rather than just being able to get there via links shown with the individual attractions, etc.) (B) Allow creation of user categories within Favorites.

These guys really know their stuff and really do give you all the insider info. I have the print edition of their book, but I wanted the smartphone app so that I could have the same info but not have to take a book around with me and completely stand out as a tourist. Very good recommendations, and they update the app with new details, phone numbers or location closures. Very quick to respond via email when I sent them an update on a restaurant closure.
