I bought this in anticipation of our trip to Maui in a few weeks. The maps look great. Unfortunately, my phone has been recently been flooded with notifications that look like raw JSON: {"Delivery Attempts":1, "EndpointArn":...}. I'm guessing the developer tried to add a new feature without testing it very well. Sometimes the notifications come in such rapid fire that it sounds like my phone is ringing.

I am disappointed because I bought the app because my impression was that it had the most up to date information. I really wanted to go to the Alelele falls based on the review in your book. I looked and looked for trails and did not find any. It was all over grown to the point none could be seen. I read on hawaii guide later that it's been closed 7 months. In addition the Gps rarely found my location except in some of the sights in west Maui.

Can't really rely on this. The GPS often loses the mothership. The search function is not a search as much an index. It would also be more useful if there were audible alerts for nearby flagged items.

I threw out my horribly unreliable gps thanks to this app. The biggest pain when exploring hawaii is trying find the sights your gps. Trust me here. Its extremely difficult and frustrating to navigate Maui when every street name starts with a K and you have no idea what city or county you're looking for. If you want to explore the island on your own you need this. The app combines the best guide to the island with an offline gps.

I bought this to look for camping and alternative places that are cheaper than hotels to put down at night and they don't mention any of the numerous hostels or any of the camping by permit on beach parks that exists here. I also don't like that you can't categorize searches when you tap a location on map. It lists everything under the sun starting with closest proximity but you can't filter to search ie: restaurants, or beaches and half the time you don't know what category the names on the list fall into.
