About Easy Crochet Flower Patterns
Here is a free crochet pattern for a quick and easy crochet bookmark. It's great for yourself or for your child to enjoy. You only need a small amount of yarn in one or two colors, thus making this a great stashbuster crochet pattern as well.
For this bookmark I added a small tassel at the end of the string, but you can add just about anything you like from another small applique to your favorite charm.
Skill Level: Easy
Materials:
Yarn: Butterfly Mercerized Cotton - Double Knitting #3
Crochet Hook: G 4.00mm

Crochet Pattern Instructions:
Rnd 1: With your first color, chain 2, work 10 half double crochets into 2nd chain from hook; With the second color, join the round with a slip stitch in the first half double crochet. [10 stitches]
Rnd 2: Chain 1, (single crochet, chain 3) in same stitch as where you made the join, *skip next stitch, (single crochet, chain 3) in next stitch; repeat from * around; join with a slip stitch in the first single crochet. [5 chain-3 spaces]
Rnd 3: Chain 3 (counts as first double crochet), work another 4 double crochet in the same stitch as where you made the join, single crochet in chain-3 space, *5 double crochet in next single crochet, single crochet in chain-3 space; repeat from * around; join with a slip stitch in the first double crochet (3rd chain) Turn. [30 stitches]
String:
Slip stitch into first stitch (into last single crochet made in Rnd 3). Chain 30. Fasten Off and attach a small tassel at end. Or, instead of a tassel, you can also add a charm or another small applique, whichever you prefer.
Another variation of this pattern is to leave off the string and tassel. Then use the cute flower as an applique for a baby headband or a on a hair clip. You could also attach it to your keys for a keychain, or onto a magnet for a cute and fun fridgie in your kitchen.
The flower in this bookmark only measures 2.25 inches across. Thus, if you need one that's larger you can always use a worsted weight yarn and an H or an I crochet hook.
So I hope you will give the free crochet flower bookmark pattern a try and find many uses for the flower.
