Digital Shadows

Digital Shadows is the Augmented Reality application for the exhibition “HEROES”, hosted in the castle of Gallipoli (Lecce, Italy) from June 26 to October 2, 2016.

The visitor can explore, through the mobile app, apparently empty display cases and stands, discovering how to turn three-dimensional object in a stone sculpture. A work in which every step that leads to the final manufacture is visible through the visitor’s interaction.

The exhibition shows the results of the research activities, that inspect the study of slicing techniques for the decomposition and reconstruction in complex forms of three-dimensional models, with the main objective of using recycling slab waste material or shapeless blocks, otherwise intended for disposal.

The project aims to reinvent the utilization, manufacturing and customization of stone made products, and to create collaborative platform for the realization of commissioned orders.

In order to see the digital content in augmented reality you need to point with the camera of your smartphone the markers present in the exhibition.

The use of this app is limited to the context described above.
