Birthday cake

In Western culture Birthday Cake defined as a pastry or dessert served to someone on his birthday. The birthday cake is usually decorated with a person's name and carrying the message survived. Candles equal to the number of years a person has lived also placed on the cake. There is also a tradition to put one extra candle to bring good luck. The birthday cake is usually a sponge, and the most popular flavor in the cake was chocolate.

Birthday Cake history can be traced back to the ancient Greeks who made honey cake or bread round or months and bring it to the temple of Artemis-Goddess of the Moon. Some experts, however, believe that the tradition of birthday cake began in Germany in the Middle Ages.
