Mobile health applications (or apps), especially those designed to help users make healthier choices in their everyday life by offering advice about fitness or nutrition, are part of the movement towards mobile health programs in health care. Although tens of thousands of fitness and nutrition applications exist these days, there quality is becoming a major drawback besides there bewildering numbers. This thesis presents an application, called BWiseHealth, which is developed on the Android platform and aimed to give combined service provided by app designed for fitness, nutrition and diabetes management altogether. Furthermore, unlike some of the applications on the market that are developed without proper medical-professional input, BwiseHealth provides its service based
on individual's blood glucose reactiveness. It uses external glucose meter and adapter to incorporate Bluetooth technology and receive glucose readings wirelessly. There is also a possibility of getting further medical analysis by sending stored glucose measurements to health professionals via email. Furthermore, the application counts each step a person takes while walking or running outdoors. And based on that information, it will calculate the speed, distance covered, calories burned and gives a voice feedback about all of these values. The realized application is highly influenced by repeated usability tests performed by a group of people.
