About Cuidar+
Cuidar +, developed in Project Stop Depression (Portugal/EEA Grants), aims to help people to deal and overcome their depressive and anxiety symptoms, as well to prevent thoughts and risk behaviors (self-harm and suicide). This application is an useful self-help solution for people that are experiencing some of these symptoms and want to deal and overcome them. So, are you in this situation? Would you like to do something to improve? Use this app! It can be the first step to your recovery!
Application Features:
Reproduce: you have access to audio contents that will help you to identify and manage your depressive and anxiety symptoms and to prevent risk behaviors (self-harm and suicide), by providing positive and adaptive strategies that you can implement in different situations. You can find, for example, encouraging messages and strategies to plan and carry out different tasks and activities, to organize your day-to-day, to manage your anxiety, to promote your emotional regulation, to manage and decrease suicidal thoughts and self-harm behaviors and to promote a positive perspective about yourself and others.
Record: you can record your own messages, as well messages from your family and friends that can help, support and encourage you in your daily routines as well as in moments of more intense emotional suffering. Furthermore, you can record the strategies provided by mental health professionals in order to manage these moments and situations.
Schedule: you can schedule the times in which you want to listen the messages recorded on “reproduce” and “record” menus. It can be useful, for example, to think about the moments of the day that are usually more difficult and challenging for you and schedule the listening of these messages for those moments.
Questions: you can find information about depression, anxiety, suicidal and self-harm thoughts and behaviors, addressing specifically the following contents: causes; risk factors; protection factors; available treatments; what to do in crisis moments; relapse prevention.
