د. علياء جاد هي طبيبة مصرية-هولندية، حازت على درجة البكالوريوس في تدريس العلوم الصحية من كلية الطب في جامعة عين شمس، وعملت بالتدريس في كليات الطب والتمريض والتخصصات الطبية المساندة في هولندا.

حالياً، تقيم د. علياء في سويسرا مع عائلتها، وتعمل في عيادة لطب الأسرة، إضافةً لعملها الخاص كرسامة تشكيلية في معرض لأعمالها الفنية.

وتظهر د. جاد في مقاطع فيديو تثقيفية صحية على قناة في موقع يوتيوب، تتحدث فيها عن مواضيع صحية مختلفة تتراوح بين صحة الأسرة، والإسعافات الأولية، والأمراض، والجمال والرشاقة، والصحة الجنسية، وغيرها... وهي تابعة للموقع الإلكتروني "أفهم" (Afham.tv) الذي تم تأسيسه في أغسطس 2013، والذي يهدف إلى:

1. نشر ثقافة التعليم الصحي للوقاية من الأمراض ومضاعفاتها بين المتحدثين بالعربية.
2. تأكيد دور الوقاية في أنظمة الرعاية الصحية.
3. توضيح دور الأفراد كجزء هام من الدولة في الحفاظ على البيئة والصحة العامة.
4. تحسين مستوى الوعي الصحي فيما يتعلق برعاية الأم والطفل والعلاقات الأسرية.
5. إلقاء الضوء على أهمية الصحة النفسية لتحسين حياة الإنسان.
6. التوعية بالتخصصات الطبية المختلفة ودورها في معالجة الأمراض.
7. الإجابة عن الأسئلة الصحية المحرجة للبعض، والتي لا يجدون الفرصة لطرحها في الواقع.
