PricePenguin for Android
Ridiculous, would not find any dvds I scanned, even when I manually entered codes. All big name ones Lost/Hunger Games/The Revenant etc attempted 12 then deleted app! Waste of time!
What a disappointment. The information stored in this app is more than 7 days old. Hardly any of the items were wanted by the corresponding companies when scanned directly. Would be great if up to date.
The app itself is great when i use it on my phone.my tablet doesn't have auto focus on camera so can't scan.but even when i enter barcodes manually it still doesn't work.other similar apps I've used work.
Is ok app for general use. They should have included delete function in order to delete search results.
Compares zapper,webuybooks and musicmagpie
good
Apps ok for a general estimate to get an idea of how much you might get incawe you are better off just donating the items to charity. Found that majority of prices were wrong (occassionally under priced but mostly over priced) so have had to go to the individual sites to get actual prices so negates the point of using it.
Couldn't get this app to work at all on Android - scanned the barcode as instructed, beeped and came up 'product found', but then the screen shifted back to the start page with nothing logged or saved. Wasted half an hour fiddling about with settings, manually entering codes etc, then ended up deleting it. Good idea, but clearly there's problems. Keep at it, guys.
Well laid out and well set up app however I believe the prices are wrong. I just scanned the same cd on here and with the music magpie app and got two different prices so unfortunately I will probably be uninstalling it as good as it is, it seems unreliable
I think the app is very useful although I seem to be having an issue with the results for Zapper. Your app gives me a price yet when I enter the details on Zapper it tells me they aren't accepting the item.
I scanned the bar codes of 10 items and it gave me one correct details of the dvds I scanned and all the other ones were wrong details for the barcodes
Doesn't give the same price you get if you go direct to the buyers' websites.
Brilliant concept and fantastic execution. Well done guys, thanks.
It's a shade buggy, occasionally goes back to the scan screen without finding the item, but this still makes light work of a long and tedious process. Love it.
Love the idea but won't scan any barcode and when I enter it manually just says item cannot be found

I've wasted hours scanning all of my CDs on this app. At first all seemed fantastic...but the prices offered when scanned into the actual apps simply DID NOT stack up. How hard would it be to have a daily file sent from all of the companies involved - taking everyone's ACCURATE prices. Then these Penguin guys could take a percentage. You could be the Hungry House / Just Eat of the used CD market. Nice try guys...but at the moment your app is not fit for purpose.
